having an imac 21 inch at home with 1920x1080 res , the macbook pro 13 inch's 1280 resolution becomes really really low

even my wife's smaller acer laptop has a 1366 resolution, and the 13 inch macbook air has 1440 something i believe

i really hope the next update of 13 inch macbook pro will have at least 1440 screen resolution coz 1280 is kinda out of date

Had my 2011 13" MacBook Pro since late March and I love it. I had a PC laptop prior to this and haven't turned it on since the beginning of April.

Even though the MacBook Pro is smaller than the PC laptop (15.6") I haven't missed the larger screen size at all. Honestly the only thing I missed, but not a whole lot, was the numeric keypad. Since I only had that laptop 8 months or so before getting the MacBook, it's really not that big of a deal.

Syncing with my iOS devices has been flawless since getting the Mac and have had none of the problems I had with the Windows laptop.

Love my 13", but sometimes it seems to get hot and the fan runs a lot, this did not happen on the 2010 MBP 13"???

My Mac pro 13

I bought my Mac pro 13 awhile back I recently upgrade the hard drive and plan to upgrade to 8gigs of memory. This is my 3rd notebook over the pass years and I haft to say it's the best investment I ever made on a notebook. Once you go Mac you never go back "to PC that is" :)

should have gotton 15inch

This is what I thought too. For anyone on the fence between the 13/15, go to an Apple store and open safari, a bunch of apps, documents, spreadsheets, and see if you're ok with having to switch back and forth... If not, then you should consider the high res 15".

But otherwise, I'm extremely happy with the 13" with a Vertex 3 and 8gb ram. Everything opens super quick and Windows 7 runs exceptionally smooth on it.

My sister bought mine for me along with Apple Care! I love it, it is my first mac, and I think I have a weird obsession with it now. I already bought a nice Speck SeeThru Satin case for it, and am planning to upgrade to 8gb of RAM and a Vertex 2 SSD!

Man, this machine is by far the best Apple computer I've ever used!!!!! I don't care if it's low-res, doesn't have a dedicated GPU, whatever. I'm happy with this machine <3 Waaaay better than White Macbook that I used to own

I love mine.. It is a perfect size for me and the best part is, it boot in only 15 sec.
Macbook pro 13" - i7 - SSD 128GB - 8GB ram...... Just bought it month ago, so far just perfect.. PC to mac transition completed and never ever go back to PC...:D:apple::apple::apple::D

i got the base model. its amazing. i really dont understand why people are saying its low resolution... it looks really really good. those that say it has low resolution probably never used a pc before :) the only annoying thing is that it gets kinda warm on the top left and near the area where it says "macbook pro". microcenter $999. you cant go wrong with it :D

I do web development and edit / create graphics for a living. Would the 13" MBP be ok, or would I benefit from the 15" MBP? Wondering if the Resolution on the 13" is too restricting?

Desperately need a 13inch MacBook Pro but the only thing putting me off is the resolution.

How come the 13 inch Air comes with the 15 inch Pro resolution where the 13 inch Pro gets a crappy old resolution :(:(

Desperately hoping in the next Update that they fix this. Then I'll buy :):)

I love this laptop, it's a huge improvement over my old MBP 15" from 2006.

Why I chose the 13? Well, its mostly due to budgeting. I would love to have a 15" MBP with the matte screen.... But that is almost $1,000 more expensive than a baseline 13". I had about $1,700 to spend with tax. When I saw the new MBP were more powerful than the entire lineup from 2010, I had to get this one. And the 13" was fine, in terms of performance. I spent the extra cash I had on upgrading the memory, hard drive, sleeve and hardshell case. Also, I bought an external HD monitor for the desk at home.

The only thing I dislike is the glare and how there were no options to upgrade that. I'm contemplating on buying a screen protector just to get the glare out. It's tough to conserve battery life when you have to put brightness at 100%. Other than that, it won't disappoint.

To me, the MBP 13" is a perfect blend of affordability and power.

I went through a 2010 13" Air and then a 2011 11" Air before finally end up with a 2011 mbp 13" (the I7 version). The 13" Air battery was the best I had ever seen but the MBP I have now easily is getting 45 minutes to an hour more. I've been writing and surfing for just under an hour and have 90% left right now.

The screen quality if exceptional. Far better than the Airs. The Airs have funky colors. They are sharp and have good contrast but they fall all apart in the color quality and gamut aspects.

The machine is fast, very very fast. The hard drive is slow though. I'm going to replace it with a SSD in a month or two. The size is perfect as you can do desktop related tasks without hassle and yet grab it and take it on the road very easily. Almost as easily as the Air. The Air may be the ultimate travel laptop but the mbp 13" is very close and you just get more. One thing you get is you don't need a lot of dongles and I think having less crap hanging off the laptop is a great equalizing argument in relation to the weight difference argument.

I find the longer travel of the keyboard on the mbp is less fatiguing to my hands as well.

Did I mention that photos look amazing on the mbp and lackluster on the Air? Yeah, I did, but it bears repeating. DON'T get an air if photo color quality matters in your work or play.

What is really cool about the mbp is that you really feel like you are using a mbp 17 ultimate that went through a shrinking machine. You really feel like you have a shrunken version of that beauty which is something you never really feel with the Air.

Now, I think the Air will improve in upcoming revisions and outshine the pro most likely in more ways but until they get that screen upgraded I'm just not going to be interested. I think they are working on a better Air screen, I've seen rumors.

yes i agree, mba has more pixels but mbp hsa a better color gamut and although maybe not accuracy the screen looks the best as well
