thank you for this - I was able to bump GTA IV to Very High and I got solid 39FPS!.. and thats very high on everything (water, shador) and I also just bumped up Dragon Age 2 and got very smooth gameplay.

what resolution - settings ? can you post a screen shot ?

i've 2.3GHz 8GB RAM, 2011 MBP. also latest ATI drivers and OC to 800/950
benchmark in GTA 4 gets average 31fps 1920x1200 on default high/medium settings, but when i actually play, it's not smooth at all. choppy, stuttering etc.

even with lower resolution 1680 * 1050 and all medium settings it doesn't seem to make a difference.

ps: it actually almost feels slower than with 2010 MBP with 330M.

did you do any tweaks - any stuttering ?

my mom is looking for a Mac, and her first computer ever, and she decided to let me pick which Mac she should get.. im almost 100% sure ill get this machine, so i can play some games while staying at her house :D

Possibly a really dumb question about Afterburner:

Is my temp really reading as 790 degrees or am I reading that wrong?

It's idling at 798... pretty sure my legs would feel a little discomfort if that was a genuine reading.

I thought normal temp was like 70 or so?

Also, what temp limit would be 'safe'?

Anyone care to enlighten me on my dumb question? Getting a little worried now.

Your computer is not at 800 degrees... ...You would feel it. I think that's the present clock speed in mhz you're looking at... ...not temperature readings..?

Well, I just updated to the 11.8 Catalyst, and I ran 3D Vantage and also 3D Mark. It says here that the graphic card is not supported. However the score for 3D Vantage is P7209. Is that good or bad? Should I go back to the original drivers?

Hello. I question whether the macbook pro can pogrania in games like counter strike 1.6? Will this game be walked on OSX if it is necessary to bootcamp? Setup my MBP .. + Changed to 1680x1050

Apple MacBook Pro 15'' 2.2GHZ QUAD CORE I7/4GB/750GB/INTEL HD 3000/RADEON HD 6750M/SD (MC723PL/A)

I got the new MBP a month ago and I am really enjoying it. I recently installed Windows 7 through Boot Camp. I have updated all of the Windows 7 drivers fine. I was wondering to update my display drivers (this may be a stupid question) I have update on both sides right? (Mac AND PC?) Also, which drivers do I specifically update to? ATI 11.4?

Thanks!

I was going to try and check out the Battlefield 3 beta, but might cancel my preorder now, since I can't get it to run says "Detected AMD driver version 11.1; minimum version is 11.7; please update drivers on www.amd.com before playing the game.

I tried installing the latest AMD drivers for the notebook Win7 drivers for th 6750m card and said no supported hardware..

Sad panda. :(

It does say this:

The following notebooks are not compatible with this release:

• Switchable Graphics enabled notebooks using Intel® chipsets.

I would assume that applies to MBPs eh?

I wondered the same thing. But then again, Windows doesn't list the Intel card in the Device Manager on my machine. I installed the drivers WonkyPanda linked to when they were released and haven't had any issues.

Oh sweet, might chuck them on

Yep, that Hardware heaven site is the site I always use and it always works fine for my 2011 Macbook Pro...one thing I can say that is different is that the battery life depletes fairly quickly and the computer is always much hotter than I remember than when I had the stock Apple catalyst drivers. The fans are almost always on at full speed when the computer is on...

Battlefield 3 is spanking my 6750. lol.

Everything as low as it can go looks like ~25fps on average. Oh well.

On 11.9 drives with an OC of 780 Core / 975 memory.

With 11.9 preview 3 driver and a small overclock of 780/900 I get well over 30fps on High, better than an Xbox!

Resolution.

You know what? I forgot most of you are using 15" laptops with a lower resolution than my 17" has @ 1920x1200. When I drop the resolution to something like 1680x1050 or lower, it stays clearly above 30fps.

Still, I'm having a problem where if I want to go smaller than native resolution, the game puts black borders around the game instead of scaling to full-screen.

Not sure what's up with that.
