Rift runs like crap on my new 2011 MBP 2.2 8gb with the 6750m at 1920x1200. I'll get maybe 20 FPS on medium settings if I'm lucky. In a dungeon i need to turn down the resolution to 1280 x 800 to get it to be playable. This is on Windows 7 64 bit. I am thinking, as others are too, that the Bootcamp drivers are weak. Sadly the drivers from ATI do not support the 6750m. Wish I had known that before i bought the laptop. Now I'll have to wait for Apple to update Bootcamp which happens once in a blue moon.

Yes they do. The 11.4 drivers do recognize the 6600M and 6700M families

Hey guys, the GPU problem I've been having with the 2011 macbook Pro where the GPU wasn't working to its full capacity (not 100% activity) only happened during games with ONLINE opponents. League of Legends and Starcraft 2 Online has the GPU activity dropping to 50-65%, whereas CAMPAIGN Starcraft 2 and and Portal run at 100% GPU speeds. Weird.

What drivers? 11.4 is known to have fixed the 100% usage bug

I am on 11.4 right now, and it still is not working. And I take back what I said about the campaign, the GPU activity is still falling below 60% every once in a while. The game looks better on my brother's macbook air right now compared to my 2011 macbook pro. This is one awesome machine, guys...

sorry, im just really frustrated.

Alright installed Brink last night and got a few minutes with it. So of course to my fellow MR gamers, I have a video of it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdTZcLH9G9c

also, my FPS was decent but I'm reading ATI/AMD cards are having problems related to shadows. Since they can't be turned off in game, you have to do console r_shadows 0 to turn them off and supposedly get better FPS. But I really didn't have a problem with my FPS but I'll try this when I get off work. I'll look into this a bit more later if anyone cares.

Looks great!, I'm also using 800/900 @ 0.955V now, this is probably the best undervolt overclock for 6750m.

I notice it still runs fine on 0.955V after bumping memory from 900 to 1000. Provides a small 2-4 fps boost in Crysis 2, 1 fps up in Dead Space 2. Think I'll just leave it at that for now :)

Is there some trick to install these (or the 11.5) ? I tried but it only installs catalyst software but no new drivers...
I need help please

I'd like to know this as well. Even when I uninstall the boot camp drivers and reboot, when I run the Catalyst installer, it gives me a popup saying my card is not supported and forces me to exit.

Temps so far seem good but i am not obsessing over the them honestly.

These things run hotter then most laptops do and its something i have come to accept so i try to not focus on them to much since afterall if it croaks thats what the warranty is for :D.

If the machine starts throttling from heat then i will become concerned ;)

I'm not sure about internal temperatures, but I know that the aluminum tends to conduct a lot of heat. So, in that sense they sure do feel much hotter on the outside. :)

Sorry, been MIA.

I always DL from the guru forums since they have a great community there. Sometimes the INF may be modified, but I know that the 6600 and 6700 series are support in 11.4 and above. Anyways, try here http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=344091 and download the proper mobile version that you need

Hey AZN, how do you feel about brink? I hear it's a pretty divisive game in opinion and i'm pretty on the fence about it.

People who have been benchmarking crysis are getting 20-22 fps on all high, while I'm only getting around 15-16.

1. I have not installed Drivers from ATI, will this help?
2. I have vsync turned on. is this a good idea?
3. I have not overclocked, but dont plan to.

EDIT:
Can anyone give me reliable instructions on installing the updated drivers? I really am not sure what I'm doing here. I despise windows, and do not know how to do anything :p lol

The Witcher 2 on my MBP, specs in sig. I am overclocked though. High settings with AA/vsync/SSAO off.

@dinjin download this: http://wasdie.blogspot.com/2011/03/crysis-2-advanced-graphics-options-17.html

it will let you set on high but turn off AA which is what is killing your framerate. Other things like SSAO can also be optional. You can turn up and down various settings to your liking. But simply turning off AA will boost your FPS greatly. Good luck!

I am sitting on about 25 fps with medium setting (I get 3 4 more fps with 750-900@0,955V, that's all) but I use the stock drivers, are you using a newer version?

Those who overclock with ATI tool and change the voltage. Does the clock revert back to low freq when the GPU is not in use? i don't want to have the clocks at contant 800/900 or whatever value. Is this possible?

I suggest you to make 2 profiles one oc and one "reset to stock values", create a shortcut for both of them, reset to stock value when you don't need the extra power. If you follow necriss's extreme Overclocking guide you are all set

Here are some benchmarks from my new Macbook Pro 15.

I figured people would be interested in some game benchmarks under Windows 7 and to get an idea of just how well the new AMD 6750 runs .

The GPU scores are about on par with a 260mGTX which is pretty insane and the CPU score is beyond off the charts :D.

Might post some more depending on the interest but again i figured there were people who wanted to see what it can do ;)

Crysis was run at 1440x1050 on an external monitor since the benchmark program does not allow 1440x900. I ran one bench at high and the other at medium.

Some quotes from other people with the same machine..

My macintosh classic has way better graphics and cpu speeds than this crap ;) :p

nope using the 11.2 that came on the bootcamp disc, I am playing on a lower resolution though since it's outputted to my HDTV 1280x720 here and also 1360x768 when I'm on my other HDTV.

this is what I did. one hotkey for 800/900 .955 volt and then another to default clocks. Tis what I use in the videos to switch between clocks.

vsync kills fps. turn it off.

lot of win stuff running in the background thats not needed,

best to turn it off while gaming i find.

Help!

Guys I reaaaally need your help. I have a Macbook Pro with an ATI 6750m card.

I used to have the 11.1 or 11.2 drivers installed and everything worked just fine.

When TW2 came out I decided to update my drivers. Since that, my card it's been acting really weird. Games barely run and I noticed that the clocks stay at 100/150.

I can't overclock at all. Afterburner takes the new clocks but the card remains at 100/150. Also, it doesn't let me change the voltage. ATT doesn't work either. I change the clocks in ATT and they go back to default when I click the apply button.

Besides being stuck at 100/150 clocks, Afterburner shows some weird temperature lectures.

I've tried several drivers: 11.5a, 11.5, 11.2. All version are mobile.

Please help me out!
