Jul 1, 2012 1:40 AM Arrived at FedEx location MEMPHIS, TN

What the heck is it doing in Tennessee?! It's supposed to be here in California on Monday!

I don't know if you've ever had something imported, but whenever I get stuff from Japan it always goes through Alaska, then to Tennessee, then here to me in Arizona.

Come to think of it, last month I had something Arrive from japan in Tennessee on the 3rd at 2am, a Sunday, and it was to me on the 4th, a monday...
Mine just arrived in Tennessee at 2am today... a Sunday....
I really hope mine arrives monday then.

Anyone from Germany, knowing how long the journey over Prague will last?

Mine has been in Frankfurt on 6/28. Since then no further news.

You guys in the US have one big advantage over the rest of the world; you've got one company, FedEx, handling the whole thing from the factory to your house and seem to deliver most in three days.

I'm in the UK and mine left the factory Tues, arrived at Frankfurt airport in Germany Thurs. evening; it sat there for 24 hours, then on Fri evening got sent BY TRUCK(!!) to Heathrow airport in London, arriving there yesterday (Sat) morning. Since then expeditors.com hasn't changed from "not cleared for import". I don't know whether it's just that expeditors isn't updating over the weekend or whether it really hasn't cleared Customs.

if that wasn't bad enough, I've also ordered a MagSafe adaptor and, because of that, once it leaves Heathrow it will be shipped to a facility 120 miles away (in the opposite direction to where I live) to be unpacked, repacked, and reshipped thus adding another couple of days - all for the sake of a £9 adaptor!!!

Also, phoning and complaining doesn't get you a free SuperDrive over here either :(

It is well announced on all Apple websites they deliver the complete order and the fact they add the other items when available will put your package on hold for some days until the packages are merged.
But, did you already go beyond the expected delivery date or not? If not, Apple is on time.

I have been ordering with Apple for over a decade and I have no problems getting my orders a bit delayed or so. I can live with that.

If you need to get your order faster, go to the Apple store and get a standard setup.

Cheers.

(by the way, I often get my orders in a couple of days too from China )

The estimated delivery date is 4-10 July, so yes, it's on time, but the lead time on these rMBPs is way longer than normal so I would have hoped that Apple would have done anything they could to speed up delivery given their focus on top quality customer service.

The other point is that it would be cheaper for Apple to put the adaptor in a Jiffy bag and post it than re-route my MBP around the country.

You could have ordered twice, that would have sold the problem.
I think your stuff will be there in time, so they fulfill their agreements.

I ordered mine (2.6/16/512) on 13th June. Original delivery date was between 9/07-16/07.

28 Jun 2012 09:41:38 Pudong International Airport Shipment In Transit.
27 Jun 2012 21:32:52 Pudong International Airport Shipment Received At Transit Point.
27 Jun 2012 21:29:00 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
27 Jun 2012 21:02:59 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.
27 Jun 2012 16:28:24 Shanghai Shipment Collected From Sender.

I'm supposed to get it on 2nd July, though dont see how considering. Im in Sydney.

Well long way to go ... its about 12days without status update

According to the spreadsheet there have been lots of orders moving from processing every single day since June 22nd so I think we can assume they work on sunday. Good for us!

Looks like I might be wrong after all. It's sunday 07:30PM in China now and not a single post in this topic stated it got to preparing/shipping in the last 12 hours or so... :(

PREPARING for shipment.. FINALLY!!!

Looks like Apple herd me or something ;)

now to play the shipping game...

btw:

2.3GHz/16Gb Ram/256GB
Ordered on June 12 6AM EST

No, day off.
Expect some new updates this evening when they start working again at 5 AM in China.

Factories work 24/7 but not the shipping divisions. (US companies)

Pretty sure this is the flight

Ordered my Retina MBP just a few days ago on the 28th. 2.6/16/512. From the looks of it, I'll actually be waiting the 3-4 weeks that my ship time indicates?

Yes, I believe you're right. From Memphis our packages will be divided and sent to their respective regions of the US. My guess is best guess for mine, is a trip later Sunday afternoon to Manchester New Hampshire where will be driven by truck to me in Vermont. Most of the deliveries from FedEx that come to Vermont land in Manchester and are then driven by truck two hours before being sent out for delivery. If this holds true I expect my delivery tomorrow or at the latest Tuesday.

The shipping divisions might not make deliveries, but our packages keep moving through the system 24/7
Probably backlog in the system because the formal shipment statement needs to be confirmed by accepting party (fedex).

Currently FoxConn employees work 6 x 10 hrs for about $295... they wil work 49 hrs for 125% of the current salary very soon. But they will need to hire an extra 10k people.

So... just wanna say...
(on some blogs I see US people shouting to get those factories inb California for work, but I am sure nobody wants to work so many hours for that salary)

My only point was that packages in the FedEx system en route continue to travel within the FedEx organization through Sunday. For example, my shipment left Anchorage at 2 AM Sunday this and is likely arriving in Memphis in a few hours. From there they won't wait until Monday move it, instead it will be put on another plane and likely flown to the FedEx hub nearest to my home.

That's the flight mine is on. I think I will get it Tuesday because of the Canada day long weekend.

About half the later orders are from the us. There are still tons of us in the us that ordered earlier and are still processing while those who ordered days, weeks later are receiving machines.

Yes! Still so frustrating that orders with same specs that occured after the 12th are shipping! Apple isn't late as I have the July 9-20 range. I wouldn't be as anxious if I knew the people after me weren't getting shipments! I was so hoping to have this befriend the 4th but it seems like I have another week! Still trying stores. One here in TX said they get the maxed out version. I'll call Monday!
