I Just decided to change the specs on my rmbp from 8gigs to 16gigs now I've been bumped back another 3-4 weeks. was that a good choice?
I sure hope so....:(

I ordered around 10-1030 AM Central Time on the 12th, got the express shipping and mine is Jul 2 - 9.

I think it largely depends on location. Even if I ordered on the first day 5-7 days it was saying 24-29th. 7-10 was 29-4th or something along those lines.

Jun 20, 2012 11:21 AM Shipment exception MISSISSAUGA, ON
Held, cleared regulatory agency(s) after aircraft/truck departed

Jun 20, 2012 7:28 AM In transit MISSISSAUGA, ON
Package available for clearance

Bah! I was hopeful after seeing "in transit" all morning, but apparently it didn't make it onto the truck for delivery. :( Waiting is killer.

I did that too but on the 14th and was pushed from 2-3 to 3-4. IMHO it's well worth it, especially since I'm a developer.

I also did the same. Pushed back from 5-7 days to 3-4 weeks.

Not to worry - it'll be waiting for me when I get back from my two week road trip in California :D

Yes, your order will be merged there.
Mine arrived yesterday in Prag (merge location for me) around 3pm. Apple updated my status to "Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date" around 11pm(ish) but no tracking info yet.
I've heared from others that it takes about a day to receive the tracking info from that point on, and after that it takes another 2 days to arrive.
Hope this helps ;)

Seems like yours and mine were on the same flight. I still don’t have any tracking information. Do you have any? I’m in Germany, actually right across the Czech border, it’s so close to me ;-)

Estimated delivery date is still the 25th. Yours, too?

There is a group of June 28-July 5 orders which are 2-3 weeks too. Actual order that these things go out probably depends on configuration too.

Is it possible those might be the same group. The date is probably made up of the amount of time it will take to get it built and over to UPS, and then the amount of time it will take to get to your front door. For those groups, it'll probably get to the delivery company at the same time but maybe because some people are in further away countries there's a day added onto their ETA?

I think if you can afford it you might as well go for the 16GB model. I would have done so if I could afford 16GB plus the 512GB model.

Hey Guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. Ordered a MBPr on 6/15, fell into the 3-4 week group.
I wonder if there is a pattern as to the place in line that folks drop into : In reading through this thread, it seems that a lot of the people that ordered 16GB RAM models fell into the 3-4 week time frame. Mine is one such model (2.6 GHz 16GB 512GB SSD). Could the delay be related to Apple having issues sourcing the memory boards necessary for the 16GB memory upgrade ? Could it be the actual boards for the high end models ?
Surely, this sort of speculation will not change a thing, but I suppose it helps pass the time while we wait.

Got it! So much faster then my MBA, can really tell the difference just in my day to day uses.

Very happy so far! And USB 3.0 is so fast! Was thinking about getting a thunderbolt drive but this is more then enough, i did in 15 minutes what would of taken 10 hours with my wireless drive!

Maybe is thunderbolt prices go down some day :(

Yeah same thing, I'm not that far away as well. Usually stuff from Apple (that came from Prague) took 3 days from the day it shipped to my doorstep.

Mine shipped yesterday but I was out of town so I had a neighbor accept it for me....I got back last night really late so didnt have a chance to open it but I did this morning and compared to my 2008 its amazing. Too bad I have work all day I wont have time to start any of the migration until tonight leading into tomorrow. I hope everyone who does have them is enjoying it I cant wait to leave work ahhh

No, all the orders after late evening 6/12 fell into the 3-4 week timeframe, regardless of configuration.

3 Days from Prague? My package just got cleared and shows:
Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date

It's still scheduled for June 26th but that would be extremely pathetic.

No carrier mentioned, nor tracking number. It moves so slowly and I want it tomorrow... :D

I am also a Chicagoan. I ordered the Retina 2.6 i7, 16GB, and 512GB SSD.
My order was placed on the 15th of June. It fell into the 3-4 weeks group as well. Can't wait to get it! :D

Yep my iPad3 took 3 days from Prague to Nuremberg.

received my 2.3/256/16 retina an hour or so ago -- thing is beautiful! Installing the 1.2 GB update now but even without it I am not noticing a lot of extremely noticeable scroll lag (even theverge isn't bad, it's of course somewhat sluggish but on mostly any computer it will be with the amount of photos it has)

you guys will definitely enjoy it when you get it! The wait will be worth it
