this could be the MBP, since it looks like it has a speaker next to the keyboard.

That is definitely a different arrangement of ports, being on the same side as the audio in/out.

must every person who takes a photo of a new product only put like 20% in to the actual picture? it seems to me, that these leakers don't know how to hold a camera!

Ramming the USB ports all too close together again so you can't use anything but a thing USB lead. I've got an SD card reader that can't fit on the left USB port when the mains is plugged in, and the right USB port if I'm using the firewire port.

That looks absolutely legit. One piece of aluminum, definitely looks like a MacBook Pro with MacBook "chiclet" keys.

There's no MacBook Air curvature to the bottom though which seems to go against rumors that suggested it.

I'm hoping for a glass touch pad to go along with that sleek aluminum "brick".

If the next MBP's end up having 90%-100% of the ports on the left side, this could mean the Optical Drive will be on the right instead of the front.

Finally case spy pictures!!!

I also just made mock-up (because the No-Invites bored me). No spicy glass-pads or something, but bigger trackpad, macbook air keyboard and a black and bigger screen.

There she is folks...The NEW Macbook 'Brick' will have the rumored 16" screen.

The first actual shot amongst all the rumors. Strange that Apple isn't holding an event though. Appears as though we are viewing the upper-left case where the screen would meet the bottom case.

I'm going to get some measurements assuming the keyboard is the same length as that found in the MBA.

CAPS LOCK KEY = 1.25"

MBA FROM CAPSLOCK TO RETURN = 10.75"
IMPOSED CAPSLOCK KEYS FROM CAPSLOCK TO EDGE OF CASING X BOTH SIDES = 5"

The bottom casing is 10.75"+5.00" = 15.75"

The MBA screen-enclosure (measured diagonally) to bottom-case ratio is 15" to 13"

That ratio applied to 15.75" would suggest 18.17" accomodate for the fact that screens NEED some border and we have a 2-inch reduction.

The NEW Macbook 'Brick' will have the rumored 16" screen. TRUE 16:9 resolution!

The only thing that bothers me about "leaks" like this, is the lack of wider images, or other images in general. I know that in low light situations like that it can likely be hard to take pictures covertly, however you think there would be a second or third (even blurry) supporting image from an other angle..

None the less, a meld of designs between the current plastic MacBook, and the current MacBook Pro, would be really nice to see. I like aspects of both.

its not carved

carving the macbook is a waiste of resources i bet it is injection molded like the current plastic macbook cases. very few things a actually carved out of a solid block of alumium. It is just too waistful. it also appears to me that there is a seam along the edge

not a pro... and no firewire

I think this would be the MacBook case, not the pro. The MacBook is long, long overdue for a redesign.

And yes... that is a mini-DVI next to the audio input and headphone jack.

What i don't see is a Firewire port. The two ports to the left are probably ethernet and power.

that would be a shame if they dropped firewire on the MacBooks

Good thinking. Use the USB port length as a scale.

Much as the image looks real, why would anyone take a picture of the casing from that angle?

Could it possibly be an intentional leak from :apple:, just to give us hope??

How's about a little less zoom, or maybe a wide AND tight version?
And who the hell crapped in my cornflakes?

heh, I was going to call it fake . I thought the left hand side of the picture depicted the bottom right of the laptop. arrow keys etc. which would make little sense

Turns out this picture is the top left side of the keyboard. escape key , below it the " ~ " key, then tab and caps lock, shift.

What did you knock that together in? That was fast work!
