It is though. Also it wont ever be "as smooth" because the new macbooks have a ton of ghosting due to the response rate of the display.
It’s not that it stutters while on pages like this forum it’s not the ghosting it’s just not butter

I am afraid he/she is not. I’m all for positivity, but some go too far.
I am not afraid of the people who chose to hate or be loyal to Apple, but this thing ?... this thing, it scares me. ?
I do seriously wonder if it's just a bot anyway.

Just installed the macOS 12.2 beta on my 2021 MBP Max and can confirm that the performance is significantly better. Scrolling in Safari is a lot more similar to iPhone/iPad with 120hz.

Why would I troll when Craig managed to reply to my email?

It’s all facts and based on reality. As consumers we have a right to speak.

Because you're saying that Craig has been on a roll. However, Apple software is a completely bug ridden mess, and in the last few years is in the worst shape I've ever seen it. The hardware division of Apple is totally killing it, the M1 machines are utterly brilliant. If the software division was working as well as the hardware, it would be amazing. The software division management is long overdue for a complete wipe out, starting w Craig. I'm a software engineer, and I am utterly appalled at the ridiculous bugs that make it through to production at Apple. I can't believe they even made it out of the dev team into the testing team's hands. And then that the test team can't catch them makes me wonder if there even is a test team. What on earth is going on with their processes? Do they have zero pride? As a dev, I would be utterly embarrassed if I even sent code that bug ridden to the test team. And I can assure you my test team are pure hunters, and there is no way any of these appalling bugs would make it past them. THAT is why I was wondering if you were trolling when you said that Craig was on a roll.

I completely understand. Give them some time. All will be fixed and aligned. It's the holidays. I'm sure lots of time being spent with the family. Along with that people are working from home as well.

I have faith in Apple :)

But it doesn't get fixed. If and when a bug gets fixed, there's already new bugs added. Pure incompetence, and no clean out in sight.

Merry Christmas to you too.

Thank goodness! We need this update. Let’s go!!!

Craig Federighi may have listened to me and working on it based on the email I sent him on November 3rd. Over a month ago.

....

I think only us old school people do this kind of thing and I feel it's one of the most important links between Apple and its customers. May this option never get lost.

To people who think that this doesn't achieve anything: You are wrong. Guess what there's people working there, made from flesh and blood, and while they may receive a ton of email, they also may read a nice, non-spam, email.

I emailed tim Cook Twice and got a response both times. I also emailed Steve Jobs once but didn't get a reply.

One time, I complained about Mac prices in Europe and how overpriced they were. Unfortunately at that time Tim Cook replied that it was just because of EU VAT tax of 20% - I checked and he was actually right, the prices before tax were basically the same as in the USA.

Another time I congratulated him on the initial launch of the AirPods as that product was just magical when it came out. He replied with a thanks and he'll foreard it to the team. (That was before I realized it also causes headaches, making it a lot less useful than I thought ...)

Anyway, keep up the good work, and the chances your email may have affected the speed at which this fix rolled out are, I would say, in the 50% range. Good odds.

You’re right, it is. It’s just not that smooth... I was really hoping to see a night and day difference.

Because modern technology is EXTREMELY complex. An always-perfect rollout of new features is unrealistic and unreasonable.

Again. They have infinite money, and this is a major first-party app interacting with a major new feature. It just looks bad that it was a problem, especially considering there's no way this wouldn't have gotten noticed in QA.

Is it any better with Chrome as well?
