Well I agree that the glare can be a little annoying, I have to disagree with you on the underlined, because I actually take care of my devices and clean them.

Also, theres nothing more disgusting than a dirty matte screen to me, they just seem like magnets for dust which takes FOREVER to clean.

I am obsessive when it comes to keeping my electronics perfect, and while you have no way of knowing that for sure, my opinion is ALSO that the glossy screens show dirt and smudges 100% more than the matte.

I dont think this picture is fake because do you remember that guy who uploaded photos of the new Nano before it was released, the same guy uploaded these pictures. Or its the same initial at least. (<3 J.B. ;))

So I think (and hope) these pics are real!;)

As I stated in an earlier post (a few prior to yours)

The images and dimensions of his "spy" ipod nano were incorrect. The shade of green was also not correct as compared to the current (new) green,. Lastly the click wheel was also in the wrong location.

That was either a Photoshop special, or an early prototype.

What's better than one button. Zero.

Seriously! They finally figured out how to include two buttons w/o having to admit that Steve has been wrong for the last 15 years or so. Get rid of all the buttons and make the bottom of the trackpad programmable. Now I can have my wo mouse buttons!

"J.R." strikes again!

did anyone else notice that someone, "J.R." also leaked the ipod nano this year? J.R. must work for Apple. This is most likely accurate since this was the same person who leaked the new nanos.

Don't see a problem with no button (personally speaking). I've used two-finger tap for secondary click since the day that option became available. Massively convenient and (for me) far, far quicker and easier than searching for a button. So the button on my current MBP never, ever gets used anyway.

Not too sure about the look (assuming this isn't a fake). But I remember thinking the same when I saw the anglepoise-lamp iMac and the G5 tower for the first time -- so I'm reserving judgement until I see it in the flesh.

The hardware looks solid enough - good to see Apple getting hardware out there that Snow Leopard will be able to really put to good use.

I use my MBP to shoot tethered to my DSLR in the studio and location then edit the images. I do not care what color the keyboard is but the glossy display and the lack of a button on the trackpad concerns me. I use the button extensively in CS3 but a wireless mouse can replace the button. It sounds like Apple has developed a new hard drive and battery system and that is encouraging.

Can anyone with experience editing images on a glossy screen comment on their experience?

Assuming this is real, I can't decide if I like it or not. It kind of has an HP-look to it... I'm sure whatever the final results, there will be features that will make me wish I could afford to upgrade, but for the time being I'm more than happy with my lovely, all-silver mbp.

The no-button move is brilliant, btw. My wife always complains about the one-button setup when she uses my mac (I think she intentionally just refuses to acknowledge the two-tap method I've espoused time and again). Maybe this'll make the switch a bit easier for her ;)

I don't like the black bezel: it's far too thick and looks too heavy. Still, it's better than the crap around the Air screen.
What happened to the nice thin bezel you used to get? (For example, on the 12" Powerbook G4 - Apple's best product ever).

haha

this is sooo fake. cant you see it??

the left and right sides of the screen are about 5mm different in size and the top edge has an angle on it...

surely apples manufacturing process isnt getting this bad? :))

its bull.

there's no way apple would release a pro machine with only gloss screens. not a chance in hell

bravo... I didnt even notice that, but then I didnt get much time to look at it.. either way, good catch

J.R put together a bunch of mock-ups based on the real iPod he had heard about. They were not the real deal. He even talked about how he did it.

I'd be interested to see that!

I really hope that MacRumors, AI, etc aren't saying they have confirmation that JR's photos are real because his previous iPod nano 4G was a spot on mockup. Smaller inexperienced blogs would make this mistake, not MR!

This JR could be an Apple employee and have seen the iPod nano and the new notebooks in advance and produced 2 mock ups (well the last one at least!) that we are seeing now.

But so far Arn/MR has sworn by the authenticity and I can't understand exactly why.

Vreenak time again!

Made one or two more observations that prove the 2nd 'JR' image is a fake. Click image to expand and read the notes.

Shame

It would be a real shame to see Apple give up the mobile content production market by not updating the 17" MBP after IBM, Dell and HP all release quad-core, high-end-graphics, high screen gamut laptops. But I guess we'll know in a few minutes.

via appleinsider.com feed:

12:22 pm: We're hearing that Apple wasn't too please about last night's leakfest and has scolded its family members for their betrayal of trust, both in person and in emails.

looks like it might be real guys.... :(

NO thanks. I guess they are debasing what originally made them strong with their Graphic Design market. Glossy Screens? Really?
