Lol, just saying I trust him. Don't think it is in his best interests to try to scam out his viewers. Otherwise he would lose out on viewership on this website.

I'm not saying he's scamming anyone. He's not. He obviously believes what he is seeing and is asking us to. However, he is no more privy than the rest of us to what is the truth. Like I said earlier, a few things posted by MR this week turned out not to be true. It wasn't a matter of them deceiving us, but a matter of trust in the information. Something just doesn't make sense about this refresh to me and the picture/ video aren't telling the whole story, sorry.

If there are two 13" models - one with ODD and one without then Apple can get a strong gauge of consumer demand.

Tbh this whole "leaked" pictures are either one EPIC troll or one EPIC fail since some of the specs kinda suck and that's why people question if they are real. The word EPIC is definitely right for this matter.

I'm new to macs and I'm pretty pumped about getting my first macbook pro.
When can people in England (I live in London) expect to see the macbook pro in stores? Would it be at store opening time or later in the day to have a unified unveiling.

Also, it seems that only the lowest end 13" model will be available tomorrow. Will we know what the specs for the higher end model will be any time soon? It would seem to me that the most sensible thing to do would be to wait and find out.

What do you think I'll be able to get for my 5 month old 2010 13" Macbook Pro? Probably not going to sell it, unless some incarnation of the MBP I read about yesterday is surprisingly released. For all those who are expecting the alleged 2.3ghz i5, entry level MBP to be cheaper than the current 13-inch model, be prepared for a let down. Admission to this Sandy Bridge line of MBPs will probably begin, best case scenario, at $1,299.

last refresh was announced on the Tuesday and the apple store I went to got them on Wednesday, picked mine up first thing :)

EDIT: that was at the lakeside store, i did call them on the Tuesday it was announced, but they didn't have them and tbh half the staff wasn't aware of it.... which I found, erm, interesting? lol

All of this talk about lightpeak/thunderbolt and I've yet to hear anyone state what they use the technology for. Faster external drives? FW800 takes care of that for video pros. I would gladly give it up for a higher res screen. I'm surprised that Apple will stick with 1280x800. Since they are already producing 1440x900 for the 13" Air I can't imagine that they will save much money by having two separate assembly lines.

I just find it a bit strange that all the pics so far only show the left side or seem to focus on the silly TB logo. Why not show a different angle?

I'm not saying these are fake, btw. Just a bit too focused on this one area to be a genuine leak. Like I said earlier, this seems more like a viral ad for TB.

If you sold it on ebay before EVERYONE catches wind of a refresh you will get more, and believe me there will be people who aren't aware of the refresh for weeks.

I sold one that was about 5-6 months old once and a 10 month old imac and I really didn't lose that much considering.

Alright...since it is 11pm here in England, I'm just gonna disconnect my wifi, throw my iPhone 4 away, lie down and fall asleep...'cause rereshing this stupid thread every minute is just giving me a headache. And tomorrow when I wake up around noon I will just go online and buy the stupid thing. And after all this anticipation, when they're not out tomorrow I'll be super mad. So Apple....since it looks as though I may be the only one in the world feeling actually happy about new low-end MacBook Pro's, and thinking that they will be sufficient enough for all my tasks and demands, please at least do this release for me.

AMEN...

Yeah that's pretty weird. I live in London and you would expect the flagship store in Regent's street to be the most clued up and best stocked.
I'm pretty desperate to get one as my laptop has completely died. I don't know if I could wait an extra day!

Good day for MR

I hope to see the Apple online store go down tonight for maintenance, just to add icing on the rumor cake! Since this refresh will be my first MBP, I'm glad I held out for the 13-inch i5! (crossing fingers).

Mac Apps/Games=Macs need BETTER GPU

If Apple wants it's new Mac App store to go /ANYWHERE/ [being that most apps are actually /games/, they NEED BETTER GRAPHICS!! I don't have a powerful New Mac [in fact my Mac is a dinosaur] so I have only used Mac Apps a couple times at the Apple Store, but I have read many reviews from very dissapointed Mac gamers. All were MBP owners with 13"-17" mid to high end models & even some lesser Mac Pro owners had graphics issues, even when turning down the graphics on 3D games.

Until Apple gets serious about their Mac App store & using MBP's for REAL WORK [Programming 3D iOS Apps, CS5 design, etc] by installing the "proper" GPU's, they'll continue to disappoint customers & App Developers. If they continue this for too long they'll miss this opportunity to make a serious play for a share of huge desktop gaming market, as well as working professionals.

Why do you say the MBP's won't be as fast as macbook air? Just because the Macbook air has a ssd doesn't make it way better. You can drop out the MBP hard drive and put an SSD in it in under 15 minutes and you will have a beast of a computer. I know because thats what I did to my 2010 mbp and it boots up in like 14 secs and runs everything almost instantly.

Yep I totally agree, but then again its a tough call choosing from a baseline Pro and a MBA when the fact is the MBA is faster right outta the box and has a much better display which as a customer leads me to ask, How can it be designated a Pro anything when the line os so fine between them? That was my point earlier on when I mentioned that Apple needs to get rid of this baseline MBP, its the odd one out as is the plastic mac in the line up. There is no real dividing line between for what is meant to be a Pro notebook compared to to a MBA.
In fact my sister bought a MBA over a MBP simply because it was far zippier than a base 13" MBP. She doesnt have the tech knowhow to swap out SSD's etc and all that jazz. She was amazd that the MBA sat next the MBP was so much quicker totally confusing her as to why something that is designated Pro is slower than a MBA. Ok she is new to Mac and she has came from a 8 year old Dell Inspiron but I reckon she is still in shock as to how much quicker that little MBA is.

i must say that when setting it up for her I was amazed at how fast it could open Aperture and edit photos. If Apple doesnt produce the goods with the 15" MBP then Im buying an MBA until the major reported refresh next year. The 13" just isnt worthy of anyones money I reckon. In a sense its a bit of a 'fake' if you ask me.

Do what I did last year, as soon as it's announced call up the store! if they dont have it ask when they will, if they say friday just get it friday but call up again in the morning, double check and reserve it. That's what I did.

Im dying for this refresh, my laptop died and I had to buy a MBP and I was talking to someone in apple the other day and he said as long as it happens within 28 days of me getting this one then I'm fine, but I need to get it by the 4th March! Getting quite worried now that there's no rumors about the 15"

here you go

No optical drive slot on the side! Isn't that news or am I missing something? Oh maybe that is the front of the MBP. :) Looked a bit tapered in the pic from right to left.

Do you have other pics for us?
I'm guessing there are no other pics. All we have is pics from the side of the MacBook (Pro) and the box. Apparently no 15" or 17" models were delivered to resellers. I'm thinking more and more Apple did this on purpose, otherwise we would've had the full spec list by now.
