Do what I did last year, as soon as it's announced call up the store! if they dont have it ask when they will, if they say friday just get it friday but call up again in the morning, double check and reserve it. That's what I did.

Im dying for this refresh, my laptop died and I had to buy a MBP and I was talking to someone in apple the other day and he said as long as it happens within 28 days of me getting this one then I'm fine, but I need to get it by the 4th March! Getting quite worried now that there's no rumors about the 15"

Looks like we're in the same boat then, needing the refresh as soon as possible. Yes I think I will call up the store as soon as they are announced. Man, I am not going to get any work done tomorrow.

Alright...since it is 11pm here in England, I'm just gonna disconnect my wifi, throw my iPhone 4 away, lie down and fall asleep...'cause rereshing this stupid thread every minute is just giving me a headache. And tomorrow when I wake up around noon I will just go online and buy the stupid thing. And after all this anticipation, when they're not out tomorrow I'll be super mad. So Apple....since it looks as though I may be the only one in the world feeling actually happy about new low-end MacBook Pro's, and thinking that they will be sufficient enough for all my tasks and demands, please at least do this release for me.

AMEN...

I hope you get what you are looking for, at least you seem to have a grip on reality!

Just a thought

All this leaked 13" base model info makes me think it could simply be a replacement for the white MacBook, that's why it's separate to the other models, perhaps the more significant upgrades (top end 13" and higher) will be announced tomorrow too, but only ship in a week or so.
Just a thought, perhaps it's just wishful thinking, but maybe!!

Alright everyone, here it is:

13" MacBook - i5 2.3GHz, HD 3000 graphics, 1280x800, no SSD (like the specs we're seeing)

13" MacBook Pro - i5 ~2.6Ghz, HD3000 graphics, 1440 by 900, 16GB SSD

15" MacBook Pro - i5 ~3Ghz, dedicated graphics, 16GB SSD Combo or 180GB SSD

17" MacBook Pro - i7 ~3.5Ghz, dedicated graphics, 32GB SSD Combo or 256GB SSD

The "Pro" will be used to deliniate the new SSD OS drive. That will be the marketing kicker, since it'll be seen as a very novel idea. We already know the plastic MacBook is going away, but that's mostly because plastic looks very dated. There will still be a computer in it's price range, but it will be a unibody, hence this 13" that we're seeing now. There will still be a 13" pro, and it will have SSD and high resolution display.

As for dedicated graphics in a 13"? Get real. Not going to happen. I think you'll be happy with the resolution and SSD in the end, but prepare for the reality that we're not going to see dedicated graphics in a 13". Not now, maybe not ever.

dude, i was getting really disappointed and you just raised my hopes that there will be more than just a few changes to the mbp 13". i really hope your right. do you know first hand or are you just speculating like the rest of us?

If no other updates besides cpu and thunderbolt then very well could be lower pricing.

Hell the 13" MBP was $1000 at MicroCenter pretty much the entire last half of 2010.

This is just guessed. I'm kind of sure ...

Pro is so unpro...

Relax

Don't worry guys, this is probably replacing the white MacBooks. They will probably slash the price on them and just sell them until they run out. This is the low end 13", there is a higher end version, and the 15" and 17" models.

The specs of the new 13" MacBook Pro are similar to this Toshiba R700-S1320. But, the Toshiba is not Sandy Bridge.

$1300 still seems a little pricey to me but I guess that is the cost of machine considered to be in the"premium business" class of hardware.

But, if you want to hold onto hope... how's this for a theory: Apple shipped the 13" MacBook Pros to resellers. They certainly knew when they would arrive. Why just the 13? Did they hold back the 15", 17" on purpose? Is there more to reveal?

I love this theory! :D

I do find it strange that there have been zero leaks about the 15"/17" models. Crossing my fingers for some good news (and more leaks to keep me going tonight)

Don't underestimate Apple. I wouldn't be surprised if they increased pricing.

I'd much rather buy the old model with the 320M at clearance prices even if the new model kept the same price.

I'm not saying he's scamming anyone. He's not. He obviously believes what he is seeing and is asking us to. However, he is no more privy than the rest of us to what is the truth. Like I said earlier, a few things posted by MR this week turned out not to be true. It wasn't a matter of them deceiving us, but a matter of trust in the information. Something just doesn't make sense about this refresh to me and the picture/ video aren't telling the whole story, sorry.
Wait, wut? Rumors on a rumors site? WTF? If you want factual news try... uh... yeah, somewhere else?

Surely can only be because of the need for the extra sata port, that the 13" base dont need, therefore waiting for the fixed chipsets from intel

Here's what I think (and hope) is happening:

Intel's announcement tomorrow will have tech demos. Why not push out a new entry level that has lightpeak/thunderbolt (if that is indeed the announcement) and get some free advertising? Apple cannot steal Intel's thunder (pun intended), it is Intel's tech, but they need to get it out of the way before they can show off the new iPad which uses it (March 2nd).

Hopefully on March 2nd we get both a redesign of the Pro along with the iPad 2.

If just i5 and Thunderbolt at same price you may have a good point.

EArly yet though. Gotta wait for the rest of information first.

Approximately when will they be available?

What time will they announce the new updates? / when will they be available to order online? Just wondering approximates incase i should be waiting at the online store at 12 am. Thanks
