MacBook Pros

PC World Recommends Windows Vista® Home Premium

:D

Anyway - I'm up in London on 6 Sep, so it'll probably be the following Tuesday.....

1. Another USB port
2. SD Card/media slot
Cool but most likely not happening.

3. bigger mouse trackpad
Most likely, given the MacBook Air's trackpad and the glass trackpad rumors.
4. bump in speeds, etc.
The equivalent Montevina CPUs are 2.4/2.53 GHz, which would mean a very very small or no bump. But Apple may up the CPU speeds to 2.53/2.8 GHz to distinguish it further from the MacBook.
5. black bordered screen like the iMac
If you ask me, it'll happen on the MacBook, not the MacBook Pro.
6. chicklet keyboard (black keys)
Given.

MacBook Pros

PC World Recommends Windows Vista® Home Premium

:D
HA! Well, the MacBook Pro did run Vista faster than any other PC laptop in a PC World test, so… :D

Looking good :D

But then it still doesn't mean that we'll be seeing mbp's in the next two weeks, iPhones were sold out weeks before the 3G announcement.
I tend to think the iPhone was the exception, just like the iMac G4 shortages before the iMac G5 was released. But it's certainly possible we may be seeing another exception.

If anybody could predict a release date based on PC World being out of MacBook Pros, that would be good.

Well Guys the end of August is nearing and all we are hearing about is Ipods  lol

Are you guys still thinking that the Macbook Pro (Pro Product Range) will be updated this September? If not I am screwed, just sold my old Macbook Pro for a good price so I could pick up the new one!!! According to one guy on the forums only the mass market apple products will be updated and they always update the Macbook Pro and Mac Pro at big events, is this true?

Why :apple: Why?

Why :apple: Why?

Apple is getting out of the computer business, that's why. :D The mini, ACD, Power Mac and iMac haven't been updated in ages. Computers are the lowest item on Apple's priority list now. A month after all the other laptop vendors have announced and shipped Montevina laptops, nothing but cold war silence from behind the Cupertino iron curtain about Montevina updates.

If the MBP update is not in September, I'll spend my 2500 € in a return ticket to US and I'll go to Steve Jobs' home and kick his ass. I swear. :)

Somebody knows where he lives ? Which city ?

damn, i really hope they do update it after all.

ive been holding off buying a macbook pro to pick the new one up next month even though.

A: I think the current design is flawless

B: People are under the impression that the updates may not be that amazing

C: The current macbook pro can take care of any and all of my needs at the minute anyway,

i guess i just dont want the feeling that my new notebook is "old" 1 month after i get it

I'm pretty cranky about waiting so long for a Macbook Pro refresh (I'm not buying until they up the resolution on the 15") but I wouldn't say they are getting out of the computer business. But I would agree that computers are the lowest item on the priority list. I'm only cutting Apple a little slack because I'm guessing this summer did not go quite as smoothly as they had planned (Mobile Me, iPone 2.0, flame throwing Nano's, heated GPU's).

I can wait a few more weeks on a laptop if they use those few weeks to fix my iPhone software

If only we all know that ;)

Does seem odd though considering that in the original 'leak' or 'rumor' it stated that stores needed 3 weeks Macbook/Pro stock and 4 weeks Ipod stock yet it is only the ipod that we are hearing about being very low on stock. What happened to the Macbook's, maybe they were just stuffing retail?

Typical :apple:!

I don't suppose anyone who works in retail would be able to give us an idea of stock on the Macbook's , Macbook Pro's would they?

Only reason I ask is that someone on the forums said a few weeks ago that most stores only had 1-4 in stock and was wondering what the situation was now?

Hope someone works in retail! ;)

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?! The MBP is already TOO thin, sacrificing performance to be 1" thick, if you want an ultra portable GET A GOD DAMN MACBOOK AIR!11!11!!!!

x2. I'm tired of this all this "thin" garbage. Give me a notebook with some power that doesn't overheat and burn my nuts off.

Not too long ago it was iPhone iPhone iPhone iPhone iPhone Mobile me iPhone iPhone. :D

I am.

I think we are in the "calm before the storm" area and things like Mac stock levels are rumored.

According to one guy on the forums only the mass market apple products will be updated and they always update the Macbook Pro and Mac Pro at big events, is this true?
They have updated the MacBook Pro and Mac Pro at "random" times, however, redesigns have been at events. Apple could update them at the iPod event.

They've been updated this year…

Mac, give us a MBP that doesn't overheat!

I'm really looking forward to the next MBP upgrade, but they'd be crazy to slim down the shell with the overheating problems the current gen still has. All I want is to work on my system from bed without my $2499 baby overheating itself after 10 minutes!!

I'd say that the next update of the MBP will most certainly come in a different box with a different MPB inside my hopes would be that it keeps the current keyboard and doesn't adopt the black macbook keyboard. The magnetic latch would be a welcome addition though.

I just hope the keep the same keyboard on the MBP. I cannot type on the MBA or the MB and the Apple Keyboard. Ugh!
