MacBook Pro Update Due for Launch as Soon as Tomorrow?

It was judged to be a hoax, just like all the MBP rumors so far.

It's on page 2 rumors now.

Someone from this forum hoaxed 9to5... so false alarm, and don't trust 9to5
 
Remember, it's still just a rumor.

I will be amazed if it is tomorrow and relieved if it is Tuesday 16th.

Relax and enjoy your machine...at most, it's gonna be a speed bump and some new ports, nothing else...not to mention that so far, only hoaxes have published around. I figure Apple is gonna take a while to launch the new MBPs this time...

lol! sucks... or maybe you have an awesome machine one the way anyway. i bought my macbook pro right before they did the 2.53 refurbs to make way for the sd cardslot mbp's. those could handle 8 gig of mem and mine is a 2.4 with 4gb max. all they sold those for just 1500 bucks and i bought mine for 1800. i was a month and 6 days out of the price guarantee threshhold. i wanted to die...... but then i realized my mac is a monster in it's own right and im enjoying the heck out of it and will continue to do so for the next 7 or 8 years. ..... still sucks tho.

My C2D 17" blew up over 2 months ago. I've been using this old PC with Ubuntu on it for work. If OS X is American Idol, this is a bunch of drunken nerds on Karaoke night.

Total amateur hour stuff here. Please release the Macs soon.
 
So 9to5's retraction is because a bunch of you guys were giving him fraudulent tips?

That's shameful, I thought we were better than that.

I was just coming on to see what was up with that. Did someone from here really send in a tip? What good does that do? Its not like Apple is going to go on MacRumors and say "Well there is a rumor we are going to release, lets just do it".....Stupid!
 
I don't know if it's technically feasible now, but I'd like to see Apple remove the bezels across their mobile line. The resulting form factor would be awesome.

It appears that, at the very least, one person did send in a fake tip from here and he got banned for it. It seems as though that was 9to5's only tip as he has issued a retraction from the rumor.
 
Why is he blaming it on us? Its "ultimate"ly his decision to use and post what information was given to him. He's the one that needs to decipher between good and bad tips. Not to just take anything anyone says as fact and then publish on his website.

I completely agree, but it seems as though he thought it truthful, or wanted to drum up more traffic to his site. Either way, it's not our fault he posted a fake tip, but rather, his and those who sent him the tips. However, to break the TOS here, then begin to discuss it, is a ban-worthy event.

Interesting. It seems as though the Mac Pro rumors are still considered legitimate, as 9to5 hasn't issued a retraction of those.

IMHO, the MacBook Pros won't come out until after the iPad has been shipped. As much as we'd like to think that Apple would take a "ship them both, they are in different market segments" approach the fact remains that it would compete, to a certain extent, for consumer dollars and Apple isn't going to dilute iPad sales like that.
