MacBook Pro Update Due for Launch as Soon as Tomorrow?

You may have some issues with your installation of Windows. iTunes always ran perfectly for me on XP, Vista, and 7.

I don't believe that a Macbook refresh would interfere with the iPhone announcement because those are two different markets. I am shocked that the iPad did so well figuring tablet PCs are such a niche device. Luckily for me I don't need a laptop until Fall. From experience, good things take time. A few months from now I bet everyone will laugh at how much they got worked up over a material thing.
 
I just can't see Apple releasing MBPs now until after the iPad has left the shelves worldwide. That would put us into approx the week or so before WWDC; Apple will want to have clear light for iPhone 4.0, (a measly Intel swop for MBPs doesn't really feature high on Apple's radar). :(
 
I'm looking forward to changing from PC to Mac at the 1st time and I'll wait for the new MacBookPro. Honestly waiting mood is really annoying! Just asking is the price for MacBookPro in the store now same as the price when it first came out last year? (Means no drop in price at all)

If that's right, is the new one come out supposed to be same price at the old one now and the old one will drop in price?

Agreed; Unless it's a minor bump in processor and graphics performance we have no chance of seeing it before June 8. But, hey! I'd buy a minor bump.

They are the same price as when they were introduced 9 months ago and typically the new ones will cost roughly the same price as the old ones. Then the older MBP will drop only minutely in the refurb store but there won't be many of them to buy there. People will be selling their old ones on ebay to get money to buy the new ones. That's your best bet.

So it's frustrating to see old tech selling at large prices (current MBP that are past their prime) BUT it keeps the price high so when we sell our older model MB and MBP we still get a fair amount for them.

Well, i come to USA on late June (im from Brazil) and i want to buy a 15"MPB, because its VERY overpriced in Brazil.

Just for example:
U$1999 MPB in USA
the same one in Brazil cost: U$3600

You cant say "its very expensive" in USA hehehehe, you dont see brazilian prices yet.

Apple Customer solutions just swapped a MBP ($1,999 version) I bought in January. The one I had already had Snow Leopard on it so it was a recent manufacture. The one they sent me was supposed to ship in 24 hours but was seriously delayed for a week. I was hoping this would put me in line for a updated model. However, they managed to find one and send me a new one. Not complaining that I have a new one, but the new one was actually older than mine, it had a Snow Leopard drop in disk. Ick. It took an extra two hours to migrate my data because of it.

Also, when I met with a rude mac genius in the Manhassett, Long Island store, he said something funny when the notes in my account said "swap in store". He said "We don't carry this model any more." I said "That is the most recent you carry on your website...what gives?" No answer. Not an irrelevant out of stock answer, but no words came out of his mouth. He just kind of skipped it and ignored me.

I know these updates are coming.

I understand that it's probably not a sign of anything, but, on the Best Buy website, 5 out of the 6 MacBook Pro models are backordered or not available for shipping. That's not just at my local store, but ordering online in general. It may be something...

PC connection is selling the MBP 17" for $150 less than the Apple store for more than a month now

When it happens

You know the sad thing is that when it finally does come out, I'll be afraid to buy it for some time thinking; "I don't want to be the first, let them work the bugs out". So I'll sit around for a couple months waiting until my ignorant rear end thinks "Ok, now it's safe".
