Will be skipping for redesign upgrade until then M1 pro will be my ride.
Who is Will? 🤣Delays. That's pretty much all we ever hear for rumored products that have never had a release date. 🙄
I love my M4 Air. It will do will for years.
The latest gen OLEDs have made some serious jumps though. Next LG 4th gen 4 stack oled are hitting 3000 nits. Our latest oled samsung panels are also close to that. While oled had trouble competing with LED Panels for a while and especially on full white could maye reach half the brightness, with the next gen they might get close to parity on full white but will smoke older LED generations in more mixed or darker content.I seriously doubt increased brightness would be a benefit over LCD, especially if the MBP are also going to be slimmer and lighter. OLED panels cannot reach the sustained brightness of backlit LCD/LED panels. That is one of the reasons why MICRO LED panels are the holy grail for videophiles. Because MICRO LED offers the same infinite contrast as OLED but without the brightness limitations.
Same with OLED iPhones. They generally cannot produce the same consistent brightness as the older LCD iPhones.
Why would you say "hopefully there will never be an OLED macbook - ever" ? Do you know how display tech will evolve? If you do, please let us know [seriously].hopefully there will never be an OLED macbook - ever
Because it is a poor tech, that’s why.Why would you say "hopefully there will never be an OLED macbook - ever" ? Do you know how display tech will evolve? If you do, please let us know [seriously].
It will be interesting to see if maybe they come out with one with and one without OLED to give the buyer the option and maybe a price difference.Because it is a poor tech, that’s why.
PWM flicker, burnout, ghosting effects. Especially flicker. How come OLED displays are less comfortable to use than ancient CRT monitors? I don’t really get that, since you can see CRT flicker with naked eye, while OLED flickers too fast to see that but brain still notices this and signals “something is not right”
Apple? Launching something later that expected?! Say it ain't so!
This pattern of delays from Apple is becoming a disturbing trend.
Your 2019 can make it! I am cheering for you and your 2019!Really hope it's by the end of next year, don't want to push my 2019 much beyond that.
Yeah, well you know how difficult it is to put an OLED display in a laptop! I mean, by 2027, maybe Apple will be the first to do so!Apple? Launching something later that expected?! Say it ain't so!
That's the problem anymore...Apple doesn't commit to anything. Everything "is coming". Maybe this year, maybe next year maybe never. Meanwhile, the rest of the industry is shipping products with technology Apple is still rumoring it might use...some year. I think Apple customers want more than just a new chip every year."Expected?"... based on a mere rumor? Expected by who? Did Apple make a commitment?
Disturbing? Why? Did Apple commit to a release date? Or was it merely someone's pure conjecture and therefore rumor? Why be disturbed over a mere rumor?
we recommend skipping the next-generation MacBook Pro models with the M5 series
In any case, we recommend skipping the next-generation MacBook Pro models with the M5 series of chips if you can wait, as the subsequent models with the M6 series of chips are expected to feature more significant changes
Yeah, others have done so already. BUT, some of those others have had complaints about burn-in and flicker. I have no idea, but maybe Apple was waiting for some better way to eliminate or significantly reduce those before releasing their own. Time will tell.... I will be eager to see some reviews when it comes out.Yeah, well you know how difficult it is to put an OLED display in a laptop! I mean, by 2027, maybe Apple will be the first to do so!![]()
