Can’t you cover the notch with the menu bar?

If you use the dark versions of the inbuilt wallpapers it's pretty much unnoticeable hidden in the menu bar

I think I already know what I'm going to do, but I just want to run this by the group here. My mid-range 16-inch M1 MBP is scheduled to be shipped from Apple between Nov. 10 to 17. I am getting a little impatient, especially due to reading everyone else's orders shipping already. So, I can order the same model from Best Buy and it will ship by Oct. 28. What's holding me back are the Apple education discount and trade-in refund that I have with my Apple order. I know I should just wait for the Apple order, but I'm starting to get impatient. What would you do in my situation?

Is it possible for you to purchase in person from an Apple store? I would do that if I was in that situation otherwise I would wait as your current device presumably lasted this long already and waiting another 2-3 weeks wouldn't be detrimental.

Is there an Apple store near you? I would try to make a pickup order there and get the discount today in the store. There seems to be a lot of stock, only the 16" 32 core GPU is not available in my case.
