The major difference between M1 Pro and M1 Max is the number of GPU cores. Is having more GPU cores important only for gamers? I am not sure if I need them as I don't do much gaming.
Video work utilizes gpu heavily, but gaming on this even at 10tf is probably not going to be ideal.

I am trying to figure out what config would be best for someone who uses Lightroom Classic and photoshop for photo editing. I’m sure the pro is more than enough and the max would be overkill.

More GPUs better for more displays at once.

and the extra ram will help since it uses that to drive them.

These things looked a lot bigger than the 2019 model in the event but according to the tech specs, the new 16-inch is only 0.02” higher and they’re actually 0.07” narrower. Strange. (The new ones are slightly deeper and weigh more.)

Man, I had my new MBP in the cart ready 1 min after 11am and then couldn't access my cart for 10 minutes and by the time I actually ordered, my delivery date is 11/24 - 12/2. So sad, I was actually prepared for once :(

Same happened to me, so I immediately switched to the app, which worked flawlessly.

Not sure if I need a polishing cloth but I ordered it. Going to have to make a call to Apple to send it to me for free. 😂

I had both going at the same time and the app gave me errors and the website just didn't load. This is the first time I've ever rushed to buy a product after the event and was surprised this many people wanted/needed a new MBP!

After my somewhat problematic attempt to order an Apple Watch, I nailed this order! There were no stupid bands to worry about being out of stock and not allow you to order. Got me a BTO to arrive 10/28-11/1. I used my iphone and the order was easy via website. At the same time I was trying on my iMac and the website was non responsive.

I gotta say, these are pretty, pretty, pretty ugly machines! Haha. Compared to my current MBA M1 this new machine ain't winning any beauty contests that's for sure. But I ain't in it for the looks, it's all about what's under the hood and it's a BEAST!

Ordered 16" Base Pro- 1TB storage.

The current late 2013 MBP I'm typing this on has been really showing it's age

Delivery date Oct 26th.

So- I was actually underwhelmed by the design itself, but I'm in need of a new laptop anyway and keeping this old one as a backup. I'm more than satisfied with the performance upgrades.

Heavy video editing and multiple display support for sure, gaming, we’ll have to see how the crazy numbers of 32 GPU work when reviews come out. Aside from gaming, needless to say, I had a base M1 Pro and that was hitting the ‘overkill’ margin for me.

I have a
Just ordered 14” M1pro 32gb, 1TB in silver - currently the delivery date is 11/5-11/10. I bought this to replace the 13” I have been using since September of 2012. Yes, it’s over 9 years old. I can’t even imagine how different the new one will be.
2015 MBP 15", a 2019 16" with 32GB of ram and continue to use my 2012 rMBP 15" with 16GB of RAM as my daily driver. Best laptop I have EVER owned.
