You’re getting triggered over something that isn’t true 😊🤷‍♂️😂
This is exactly what I mean. Showing me food I can’t afford 🤦‍♀️

Congratulations! Ahhh, what a long journey. But it’s finally coming home. Woo hoo! Once you unbox it don’t forget to post pictures :) good luck.

So it was an incredibly busy and stressful day, so I really did not get a chance to set it up at all until this evening. It's still not 100% where I like it settings-wise, but I thought I'd share a few images, and a short video.

I wanted this to connect to:
  1. ethernet
  2. 4k Logitech webcam
  3. Audio interface (Mic, speakers)
  4. Pair of 27" 1440p monitors
And I wanted this done with one cable.

Too many people who posted about docks, and docking solutions talked about hooking up one monitor to this dock, and another through the HDMI or a second TB port, and the thought of a spaghetti nest coming off the sides of this machine made me lurch.

But the good thing about Thunderbolt 4 is, that for it to be TB 4, an individual port has to support at least 2 displays. I'll admit, I was nervous, especially with the base 14" M1 Pro (sans SSD, upgraded to 1 TB).

But here it is. And it worked like a charm.

I routed the TB4 cable around the back of my desk to a cabinet, and mounted the TB 4 port to the inside of the door. That way if I ever need access to any USB A ports, there's always one readily available.

So it worked. A one cable solution for the office, and if I need to be on call upstairs while getting the kiddos lunch, it's easy to dock at another second monitor at a PC station up there. Super flexible. Super powerful. Exactly what I needed.

Here's a youtube video of it too; I also use the KVM switch to go between Windows & Mac OS in it.

Not yet lol, I’m tired of waiting too 😂 The waiting it worst then waiting for MacBook Pro 💻 after it wasn’t released during the summer.

Looks like I’m going to email them and ask
For an status update. I’m gonna tell them it’s urgent and I’m flying out of the country soon 😆

My entire trip hinges on this case arriving on time.

Ahh, such a beautiful post. Love, how you have it all set up and all the details. It really does look very powerful, operating two OS system just like that? That’s commendable! Can’t wait until you are 100% completed with this. This is just very powerful set up! Congratulations!!! 👏 👏

Didn’t have trouble affording that banh mi and bubble tea yesterday, flexing with the large size bubble tea as well 👌

I think you’re depressed tonight because you’re missing your S2000, now you have the new 16” beast M1 Pro MacBook Pro, that makes up for it in someways.

Remember time heals all wounds 😁

No, that is what you should say to them.

Unfortunately the USB C dock displayport not longer outputs 4k/60hz, which means no more one cable setup:

Wow! Very nice and clean set up. It’s also dust free. You don’t need the sleeve 😂

Btw, I’ll email them tonight and see what’s up. They did say mid week in November but give me a date, haha!

If only I could afford a desk and a external monitor, I’m broke 🤦‍♂️
This was actually a fairly cheap 4k gaming monitor, TN panel with 96% srgb for $400 CAD on holiday sale back in 2017. Unfortunately early adopting this meant missing out on a lot of next gen ready features and HDMI 2.1, but they have kept those around $1k.

So much truth holds on this tweet. It’s very obvious Apple’s Software and Hardware team are not communicating. Pure lack of communication. Hopefully now the hardware is released it all gets settled.

I wonder if it is because a shared software team makes all the OSs while there are more separate dedicated hardware teams.

Dust free due to me dusting the desk area every day lol.

You also need to add Simpson toys. It would look pretty cool with that space gray Mac! 🧸🤩

I didn’t buy it 😌

I’m just hungry. I’m so broke I don’t even know what’s for dinner tonight.

Use your MBP as a desk. That’s what I do 😀

I know there are a few others in my boat, but my UPS delivery estimate updated this morning from Thurs Nov 11 to tomorrow, Tues Nov 9! This is for a 14" M1 Pro 10/16 32gb/1TB, ordered about 15mins after store opened, with an original Nov 5 - 10 estimate.

After 4-5 days stuck in ZZ, here's how my UPS tracking looks (going to Los Angeles). As others have mentioned, looks like once it gets to Louisville, it's generally 2 days until delivered.

LFG!

Mine came Monday. Similar trip as yours. Worst experience of my life. Glad it made it.
