Yeah. It would have been great if there were 1/2 height function keys, with a Touch Bar above them.
Hope so, I feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick : ( . I ordered it October 18th. I was warned it would take this long (apple said Nov 17-24), but seeing it get into the states so quickly got my hopes up. I guess my area had insane amounts of purchases so that's why it is taking so long? Anyways I'll be patient and wait. What's crazy is that if I try to order the computer now on the Apple Store site it says it wouldn't ship to me until late December LOL.
So, did you have to train your muscle memory with the touch bar? I guess I just never saw the appeal.
My date of delivery first, was Dec 17 - Dec 24, then moved up to Dec 13-Dec 20.

PD: Just to see, if I try to buy a new one (customized), the delivery date is the same as my new date ... maybe they have been improving the delivery issue

I never had a Touch Bar Mac. My last MBP was a 2012. But I can see how it could be of great advantage if the software was written for it; like shortcuts in video or audio editing automatically populating on the bar depending upon the task you're doing, scrubbing through videos, etc. But I guess I'll never know, unless I downgrade.
Edit: Looking at my keyboard, the ESC key and Touch ID key could be left as-is, and the function keys made 1/2 height and a Touch Bar above them. Or something to that effect. Not sure I agree with their decision, but it is what it is.

The scenarios you presented makes sense for use of the Touch Bar. Beyond emojis, just I didn’t know how else it could be applied because my use doesn’t involve those or similar actions. I guess it’s irrelevant now with the new M1 Pro/Max not including the option.

hold down on the volume & brightness and slide to adjust, was so satisfying changing the volume and brightness. 🥺
See that’s what I’m talking about. As a touch typist with years of muscle memory, the Touch Bar would have driven me crazy. With the work that I do and the sheer volume of work, I wouldn’t be able to take that chance.

Agree! You could also skip the YouTube commercials by sliding the slider. Also, Auto fill became very easy too.

ordered a 16" MBP M1 Max 10/24/16 core w/32GB RAM + 1TB SSD on October 24th. Delivery is, and has been, December 1st - December 9th. Hoping to see that bump up a little. But, we'll see.
