To all those people with PTS status, I dislike you all. 
So it appears that only base configurations are preparing to ship so far? Anyone with a later-than-launch-day estimated arrival time or upgraded configuration seeing any movement?
My order is locked in but im considering travelling to Oregon to get the MacBook without sales tax ... hm ...
I have the high-end (base) 16" on order for launch day. Still processing.
We deserve it though. We went through pure madness when Apple announced "Order your Mac, It starts today".To all those people with PTS status, I dislike you all.
How much $ will you save? I usually do a tax write off. I get the tax money back, LOL

I miss these days. First MBP in almost 5 years and I heavily use my MBP personally and professionally.
I will be playing the role of this person:
Who should not even be looking at this thread yet but is hoping for some odd reason theirs ships early. I will be checking my Apple Card and refreshing all sorts of locations often. I got you hopefully early shipping people. I got you. I got you today and I got you tomorrow as long as the WiFi works on my flights.
I ran into the spinning wheel which pushed my order back: (16 Max, 2TB, 64G)
Super excited for all of the excited ones out there and looking forward to watching all the fun unfold, unbox, etc.

If the Portland area is a relatively easy drive to get to and from, and they would have what you want in stock when you arrive, go for it. A shopping adventure!

also got the Preparing to Ship this morning for my 16" silver base config! Ordered within about a half hour of the launch (took me that long to decide whether I needed a BTO spec or not). Nothing on the UPS app yet.
Is there any precedent for Apple products arriving sooner than their listed estimated arrival date around launch windows? I'm assuming ordering a non-base model MacBook Pro reduces those chances quite a bit

Looks like the theory is correct that just base models are preparing to ship. Perhaps Apple is doing all those first, and the mid and high-end models will start to PTS later today/tomorrow.

Yes. But my experience with this has been in the iPhone world seeing this is my first hardware purchase in ages. I have yet to have an iPhone show up on a delayed timeline. It always moves up. Even with my iPhone 13 which I ordered a few hours late release day. It moved up two weeks delivery wise and then sadly was stolen off a UPS truck. I now have a Mid-November delivery for its replacement and hopefully that will move up again.
It's all an optimistic dice roll with dates moving up and I enjoy being an optimist

@mcvaughan I just placed my order the MacBook 16” 2021 sleeve and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Red and blue color combo.
It ended up costing me 💶199,95. I’m not sure how much that is when it’s converted to U.S dollars. 🤔

What's the difference between a high-end config and a stock config? I saw Amazon listed new MacBook Pro models, but only certain ones, are these the stock configs (in contrast to custom configs on Apple's website)?
