MacBook Pro's LED Display Details

Could someone explain this to me, that knows a little bit about the manufacturing process? Is it something like two parts to a lamp? Both containing mercury, but one replaced by an LED?

Do you have the 17"?

I'm in the exact same boat.

Lots of people getting on this boat I would buy the 17' model today if they would have had the LED option. I had a 15' Powerbook and a 15' Macbook Pro and ready to move up to the 17'. I noticed the speakers are also better and you get an additional USB port. I'll still keep my Powerbook for portability and sell off the 15' Macbook Pro.
