I know I don't have any credibility but I was at the apple store today and they were pushing a cart into store at the Grove. At first I was looking at the printers and underneath they had largish white boxes. I'm 95% sure I saw the new macbook boxes, it didn't look to be tapered and its definitely aluminum. At first I thought they were macbook air superdrives but it definitely said macbook. I would have taken a picture but I didn't realize it until it was too late

There is NO way that those boxes contain the new Macbooks... Apple never let their products reach the retail section before the announcement.

If this was even slightly true then the net would of been flooded with pics of the new Macbooks or even their boxes.

went to apples web site

i just checked out apples website and they do not have the blac mac books is this confirmation that updates are coming soon/

PS right now i have a disgusting Compaq with vista and my k key doesn't work can't wait to save up money for a mac

...?

I just checked out the web site, and the Black Mac is still available.
This was pointless.

THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE!

Maybe October 14 will not eventuate?
I wouldn't count that out.

But wouldn't we of seen some more leaked photos by now, the only one we have really had is that one on this thread with the black bezel. Which Im not to keen on.
Not necessarily; the redesigned iMacs had no leaked photos (besides the keyboard) before its release, and the MacBook Air only got an accurate artist rendering the day before its release.

What I do expect, however, is a number of rumors in the next two days. I would say that those last-minute rumors would have more specific details not seen on any previous rumor.

True w/ authorized dealers, not true w/ Apple stores. I was talking w/ a guy here in Sydney in regards to the latest iPods. He said they came in that day, turned on their comps to find an email announcing it and whaddya know they had the new iPods. They weren't there the day before.

Being a newbie it just fascinates me how well apple manage things. They are better than the government at keeping secrets. Just awesome.

Seth Weintraub suggested the benefit might be "to use the capacitance qualities of glass over the current materials". So greater accuracy, then?

The glass track pads will be to improve the longevity of the books. It will stop the bald patch happening on the track pad.

That seems odd, since by all appearances Apple now wants you to buy new laptops about every two years anyway.

Apple is well aware of their fantastic resale values however, which could be a big draw.

I dont really see glass trackpads happening tho. I think it was sum idiot that heard the trackpad would "be like the iphone" and thought glass instead of multi touch. Thats just a scenario that went through my head tho.

If it were glass, then im glad to see innovation on the almost forgotten laptop lines.

I am not giving up on September 23rd until the day is up :D I still have a good feeling (hunch, no inside info :D)

Anyone notice there's no BlackBook choice on the U.S. Store?
