If the post on TUAW is true, then we all ave to be prepared for January 2009 for release date.

For me, is not this time I will get a MAC. maybe in another 3 or 4 years for now, for the NEXT NEXT generation

Too bad :( I will wait 2 to 3 weeks then It's imperative for me to buy a machine, maybe one of does HP workstation's with openGL dedicated graphic card

what post?

there will be an update but we will not see any new products until 2009. I kinda figured as much because by now we should have gotten leaks. But nothing? Makes no sense since in the past yr alone everything that apple has release has been leaked out weeks or months before hand.

That post says nothing, and implies little, about January 2009. And a September 30 update/redesign wasn't even rumored to begin with.

The leaked case pictures weren't leaks? And the aluminum iMac case wasn't leaked at all (although the keyboard was). And there's been many other rumors pointing to an 2008 redesign of both notebook lines.

they better come with something mind blowing

Or else people are going to be disappointed.

I want these things for the next MacBook at least:
1. Aluminium
2. LED-display
3. New Integrated video card
4. Base model: $999
5. 16:9 ratio

For the MacBook Pro:
1. Magnetic Latch
2. User-Replaceable Hard Drive
3. ATI graphics card
4. Drop of the "Pro" name
5. Base model: $1799
6. 16:9 ratio

Is there any thing wrong with my expectations of the MacBook and MacBook Pro except the "Pro" name drop?
I would like to believe my expectations are plausible. :)

I don't know, I am not Steve Jobs, but the MBP isn't going anywhere, and the 16:9 (from what I've read) seems unlikely, $1799 seems too cheap, but we will see...

Damn, where's Tallest Skill when I need him?

Apart from one comment by John Gruber on 10 September, where is there any substance to these Oct 14 rumours? The lack of anything else really in the last few weeks, (apart from a lot of obviously fake pictures) suggests that the next update might well be Macworld.
