Word from Retailer here In Aust

First time poster long time reader.

I thought that I would share this with you guys. I went into the Mac1 Store Canberra City a few days ago to ask about a MBP. The store clerk advised that he only had one of the current MBP's in stock. I asked whether or not he will be getting anymore in and he advised No but a new model will be released on the 14th of Oct.

Now I am not sure whether or not he is referring to rumor or whether it is fact but I thought that I would share with you.

i think that worker is always like us on macrumours and that hes guessingh it will be the 14th, because employes are like us : they dont know till the day its out

Ah I see, I just thought that it was honest of him not to try and sell me the one he had in stock to get rid of his inventory.

Either way I am hanging for the new spec'd MBP's to come out as I have started to run out of resources for my Music and Video compression requirements.

I know that I wont get performance like my PC without going to the Mac Pro but I need something better than my MB that is portable.

Well the latest rumors do point to some time in October, but it's worth noting that rumored release dates generally change as time passes (like for this one: Q3 » September » October).

Another thing is that there are no rumors for a minor imminent update.

Apple will release by the 14th, or on the 14th. They won't wait any longer. I'm wondering if anyone will take a bet with me on this. I will put up $50 of my new macbook money fund.
 
In the past we have been able to get good info up until the release of said product. How is it possible that we have not gotten anything that seemed solid in how long? We have not heard anything in days once the ball gets going usually we get more info. The only thing that seemed half credible was the casing but how long ago was that?

I'm sorry to be a bubble buster but I only see an update no spectacular jaw dropping new redesign. Unless it is so spectacular that anybody who attempted to leak anything was murdered.
 
i think apple is just sick and tired of leaks always stealing their thunder and have vamped up security.

i just want the goddam aluminum alright?

They may be possible. The Lets Rock event was such a huge disaster because everybody saw the nano beforehand and nothing amazing was done with the other products. That pissed a lot of people off.

I just wish they would give us a little taste of at least the spec's of the new range.

This could also encourage people to buy the remaining stock of the existing range if they are not happy with the spec's of the new ones

Correct and Mr. Jobs made a few promises to Apple customers.

Apple plans to completely eliminate the use of PVC and BFRs in its products by the end of 2008.

Apple plans to completely eliminate the use of arsenic in all of its displays by the end of 2008.

Apple plans to reduce and eventually eliminate the use of mercury by transitioning to LED backlighting for all displays when technically and economically feasible.

Green MacBooks must be it. They must be coming out soon. Not just for these reasons but also for many others which have been mentioned in other posts. Perhaps a transition to greener products.:D
 
Well, I hope these next two weeks go by fast. I can't wait for this moment!!!:p

All joking aside...I want new MACBOOKS. Everyone should have that kind of joy and warm feelings.
