Assume the tracking shows them in Japan now.

Yes. Tracking shows Narita (Tokyo), Japan following the origin in Shanghai. Moving West, people. They're just moving west. Don't worry! Following carrier tracking scans is a sure fire way to become unnecessarily anxious about your delivery time and status. The scans reflect the local times of that location, and often don't show up in the computer right away. Just because it still says Narita doesn't mean it's sitting in Japan at this very moment. It may very well be much further along its route, and have already cleared US customs. It'll get to you when FedEx says it will.

I believe they are a couple of hours from arriving in Anchorage and are on a Nippon Cargo flight.

There haven't been any FedEx flights that match the path and times of the scan's.

There have been Nippon Cargo flights that do match, including flight 134 that left Tokyo at almost the same time as my in transit scan in Tokyo. That flight arrives in Anchorage at 12:05 pm ADT.

We shall see if there is another scan hi Anchorage around that time.

Wouldn't be the first time FedEx and UPS have used contract carriers.

Last time I check Tokyo is due east to Shanghai. Actually entire Japan is closer the U.S. Than any part of China.

I don't think it's going to anchorage. Tokyo is more like a hub for Asia (I'm not quite sure lol). So it should come directly to the U.S.
If it is going to anchorage. Why bother stop in Tokyo

Well this isn't the case.

Just had new scans in Tokyo that don't match any flights from there.

The new times seem to perfectly put them on FedEx flight 60, departing KIX for Memphis. Arriving Memphis 12:22 am tomorrow (Tuesday).

I ordered my Gold 512 1.2 at 12:01:36 via the iPad app. It is just now preparing for shipment and I did pay the $10 expedited shipping. :(

Did you pay the $10 shipping charge? I think the flights everyone else is tracking is for those that paid the $10 for expedited shipping.

Got ya..No, I didn't pay extra $ for the shipping..so I guess you are right...

I really hope they didn't fly west from Shanghai to Narita.

lol...not sure why I said West!

Ya, I'm a total bonehead. Not sure why I said West! I was trying to say the same thing you are...from China to Japan, they're moving closer to the U.S. They're heading TO the West... The West Coast of America... ya, that's what I meant...

As an update for you all, I've called in some chips with NORAD. They will be tweaking the annual Santa Clause tracking web site with live updates of the FedEx planes that the NSA has identified as carrying MacBook pallets. It should be up on the web shortly.

This is fun. Based on my Fedex updates I think my MB is arriving at Indianapolis airport on Tues around 1am. FedEx flight (24) left Japan with times that match exactly. Turns out all that time watching Dora the Explorer wasn't a waste afterall #
