Well mine departed China with a Kuhne and Nagel flight on the 21st and the tracker still hasn't been updated!

Same here - The flight departed but I have no idea whether it arrived or where it may be?

[Hey, a flight which leaves but never arrives - could be a book or even a popular mini series to be had out of that...;) ]

I can only but dream of being told that it has got as far as Arnheim...

My status is like a lot of peoples:

22 May 2006 16:14 Arnhem Hub Consignment Received At Transit Point
21 May 2006 10:25 Amsterdam Consignment Received At Transit Point
18 May 2006 17:26 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
18 May 2006 17:05 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point

But I just phoned TNT and he said it was arriving the UK later today and would DEFINATELY arrive tomorrow between 9 am and 6 pm. I didn't ask why the web tracker hadn't been updated (or why they don't give us the same info as they can access).

My tracking says "flight departed" at May 20th but still no note of the plane landing... And ETA to the Netherlands (where TNT takes over the delivery) is still May 30th. What's up with that?

what type of shipping did you guys get? i got the 2-3 day thing.

When buying in the UK (in my experience) there was no option for express delivery - the only "option" was free delivery which means that the goods take their time mysteriously wafting around the world...:(

They do, because the first two people i talked to said they did! They knew which flights my MB was on, which vehicle was being designated to ship it out of Arnhem, everything!

Dang!

I heard something about Apple being able to avoid a certain Tax or Import Cost when delivering to UK by dallying about in Europe for a while... Just heard on the grapevine, so no reliable source for this!

I Dont think apple are at fault here, it's TNT. If FedEX can get a MB to the US so quickly, why can't TNT get the same parcel, a shorter distance, in the same time??

I assure you all it'll be worth the wait - savor the anticipation, make it last :) Apple really outdid themselves with this machine - even though I plan to upgrade to 2 gigs of ram eventually, this little machine flys even on 512mb, and I thought it'd have much worse out of the box performance.

Because EVERYTHING is slower for Europe always.

I know they are making them in China or wherever but I don't really understand why Apple didn't ship a load off to central Europe (and to the US) before the launch to distribute. Perhaps that would have been more expensive but I am not sure why.

for reference

My MacBook arrived a few minutes ago. TNT was as fast as usual, but the extra "Linehaul" entry was scary. After shipping on the 18., Apple promised delivery by the 29.. The Apple tracking page had ETA 26. after TNT started moving the MacBook.

23 May 2006 12:59 Cologne Delivered
23 May 2006 06:35 Cologne Out For Delivery
23 May 2006 05:58 Cologne Import Received
22 May 2006 20:57 Arnhem Hub Consignment Received At Transit Point
22 May 2006 20:57 Arnhem Hub Consignment Passed Through Transit Point
21 May 2006 05:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Linehaul Delay Due To Technical Problems
20 May 2006 21:17 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
20 May 2006 20:08 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point

That is good to hear. I ordered 512 MB but I am upgrading to 1.25 GB next week and then 2 GB when I can afford it.

Wow! That's great. Congrats on the MacBook and thanks for the reference point. I guess being so close to Arnhem helps as well. :)

I disagree. Most companies within the UK offer next day delivery, and many give the option of it arriving by 9am. It really puzzles me that Apple don't give us the option of express delivery to the UK, as I'm sure there are couriers that could provide this service for a fee.

Actually my experience with TNT in the past has been pretty good. I'm near my local depot, and when I got my mighty mouse I was able to collect it that evening after they left a card. The depot is open 24 hours a day. This is very different from most other companies, where you get home in the evening, find a card, phone them, they're closed. Phone them the next day, it's already out for a second attempted delivery. You tell them you want to collect it from the depot, they say you have to wait until the following day. In the end you get your next day item about 3 days late. Not with TNT - collect it any time from the depot. If only K+N would move their asses and get the thing to europe.

OK, for all the people with Pudong 'linehaul delays', here's what the delivery people told me on the phone a few minutes ago: The plane didn't leave Pudong because it was grounded by tech staff due to some technical problems. They had to wait till another plane arrived, unload and reload the stuff. But the MBs are fine, the plane plane didn't crash or something like that. Basically the entire shipment is being delayed by 1-2 days. Apple has already started sending delay notices

Quoted by Simon, on Macnn.com

PS: The plane should arrive at Amsterdam/anhem hub by tomorow or Thursday!

Looks like my MacBook finally reached Europe! Tracking on apecode now says "accept scanned at EDC" on the 23rd of May. EDC must be European Distribution Centre or something like that, right? Now, let's see how long it takes for Apple to add my iPod sleeve to the shipment and send it to Norway... I'm waiting impatiently for the order to show up on the TNT tracker.

Just phoned TNT again. They weren't very forthcoming with information. He kept telling me it's 'in transit', and even said it was in China (it isn't. even i know it's at least in Arnhem). They still insist it'll be here on the 30th, and couldn't explain to me how it's going to take 7-8days to go ~540miles. With that distance and time it works out at less than 3mph, so maybe they've sent someone out with it on their back?

Pudong International Airport, Potential Connection Delay

Hi everyone, this is my first post here, but I've been following this thread since it started and thought I'd join in. I've ordered a white 1.83GHz MacBook with 1GB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive on the evening of the 17th of May and am waiting for it to be delivered to my work address in Copenhagen, Denmark.

I seem to be having the same problem as ShadoW :(

21 maj 2006, 06:17, Suzhou, Shipped From Originating Depot
21 maj 2006, 04:53, Suzhou, Consignment Received At Transit Point
21 maj 2006, 03:28, Suzhou, Consignment Received At Transit Point

It's my first ever Mac by the way, and I was waiting for the iBook replacement ever since the move to Intel was announced. Although I think the x86 architecture is a kludge, the ability to have OS X, Linux (pref. Slackware) and Windows on the same machine (esp. with virtualisation) is what's made me make the transition.
