MacBook Shipping Times

Heres an odd update:

However, I rang TNT and they told me that it had LEFT Arnhem at lunch time and was going to be in the UK late afternoon early evening and that it was entirely possible for it to be delivered by tomorrow morning. The woman at TNT told to to disregard the online tracker as it works on an entirley different system to their tracking?! Whats the point in that?! Anyone else in the UK waiting for their MB, ring TNT now and find out where your MB exactly is!!!

Someone get TNT to email them whatever they have on their screens!!
 
I've called TNT twice. All they tell me is what i can see on the web tracker! They still claim it's going to take over a week to get to me from Arnhem, which is clearly wrong :mad: I don't really want to spend all week sat at home waiting for the delivery!

Yeah, it sounds like you Europeans got hosed - I've never used TNT, obviously, so I have no idea how reliable they are as a shipping company. Us Yanks just got lucky on this one.

But eh, in a week tops you'll all have yours.

I cannot wait! I have to go to school today so i will not be here when Fed Ex drops it off, But i convinced my dad to stay home from work !

I'm not really sure why everyone is complaining so much about TNT, they're way ahead of the scheduled delivery so far and they generally call the day before it arrives to check your address details and that you'll be home. They've even tried to work around the times that are suitable for me to be home in the past, despite Apple having paid for the absolute cheapest delivery method (where they can deliver anywhere between 8-18). If worst comes to worst they try to deliver and you're not home and they deliver the next day. It'll still arrive before Apple's estimate.

They're a pretty decent company IMO and they almost always deliver ahead of the schedule Apple predict, tech support is friendly and quite helpful too.

That's because Apple's 'estimated' delivery date is about 3weeks after the order is placed! It could probably come by ship in that time, heh.
 
I'm tempted to ring TNT again (for the 4th time today). All the info they give me over the phone all seems to match, just not with what it says on the net. I was amazed when the woman from TNT told me to ignore the webtracker - so it's clear that TNT have much more upto date and detailed info compared to us. I have emailed TNT with no reply as yet. :mad:

Someone else ring TNT - I think they are twiggin on to me..

But once its shipped its 3-7 business days (i.e. the time that TNT should ship it in). Its been two business days so far for most people (i.e. it was picked up on evening of the 18th, so Friday was the first business day and today the second) already have their MacBooks in the Netherlands, indicating they'll arrive tomorrow or the day after. This makes 3-4 business days total, which is well within the alloted time. While their tracking system may not be perfect, it usually works quite well in Europe.

I went to http://apecode.com and used their tracker with the 803****** reference number apple sent in the shipment notification. My shipment didn't show up there until a few hours ago though.
 
Mine also passed by Arnhem at 18:44. I am pleased. :)

Hope it doesn't take a long time crossing the North Sea!

So passed through transit point? Is it on its way to Ireland / UK? Where :confused:

I've never been more anxious than this, except when I was waiting for my imac, oh and my 15" powerbook before that, and my 12" powerbook before that, oh and my G5 powermac before that, oh ......... Why do I torture myself so? :p :p :p

That's great! It seems like a lot of people will be receiving shiny/matte new MacBooks tomorrow (or latest the day after). :) Now if mine just showed up in Europe too...

Thats awesome looks like yours got the Monday Flight to arnhem mine still shows Pudong Airport Delay, guess it will be on the wednesday flight....You should now defo get your MB before Friday....;)

Although mine hasn't 'Passed through" Arnhem yet... Are TNT available to ring 24 hours a day? Might give them a go... It better not take 8 days to get to the UK! If it can get from China to Netherlands in 2 days, no way should it take 8 to get to UK....

I just spoke to someone at TNT and they weren't being very forthcoming! She wouldn't even tell me where Arnhem was! But I knew what anyway. The advice given was to keep checking the online tracking.

Well I just rang them.. Pretty much the same thing you got!

"It's not scheduled to be delivered until the 30th Sir... Anything else?"

Probably the same woman... I cannot be arsed waiting until next Tuesday!

Call them tomorrow morning, as soon as its in England they'll know exactly when you can expect it.
