Ahh, another exciting day tomorrow to see if any invites are sent out for next week (well tomorrow for me anyway)

Amazon.com $100 off on all of them same with macmall.

The regular Macbook is like $4 off with a $75 mail-in rebate (which they always have) on Amazon....

Where did you see $100 off on their site? At least from Amazon direct, not one of their 3rd party partners.

Um... when have Apple EVER "sent out invites" for MacBooks?

MacBook Pro and MacBook Air were part of MWSF keynotes, otherwise... there's never been a press event for any of the MacBook range. Just an update to the Store and a press release on apple.com

If it was worth an event for the redesigned iMac, then I would suggest it is worth an event for redesigned Macbooks, particularly if the nVidia rumour also pans out.

As well if the Brick rumour is true, El Jobso will want to brag about that ;)

I think that a major design update such a that being proposed would at this point wait until MWSF. I'd love to see it earlier but I just can't see it happening now.

Why would Apple wait if the products are ready now? Apple's laptop market share is steadily increasing; do you think they want to give the competition that is offering Montevina models another few months to slow or reverse that trend, especially when it would mean abandoning the holiday sales period?

Just stab me in the heart why don't you... :p

They are coming out the 14th. TUAW confirmed it in their "Brick" article.

So:

- If we do not hear about some Invitations tomorrow,
- Or if there is not renforcement of a release rumor by tomorrow...(A guy from one of the main retailers chain here in France told that normaly they get the info from Apple one week before release...)

Then we will have to wait...again, cause tomorrow is just one week before the 14th....hope it won't be too long...not sure we will still have money soon

Damn I badly need my first Mac : )

We're purchasing new laptops, we need a fleet of 8GB laptops, and I've put it off for a couple months now waiting to see these new MacBooks, if there is no announcement or release this month, then I'm afraid I'm unfortunately left with no option but to buy PC's instead. I hate them, but it's no longer about what we want, it's about what we need, and we need 8GB in our machines for virtualization.

So annoying, I hate PC's but I can't sit waiting for rumor after rumor to come and go.

it could be my hopeful mind but it seems that apple has not put out new adds recently perhaps they are waiting for new macbooks?

Not sure how much you should read into this, but i did noticed in best buys sunday ad they didnt have any kind of sell on macbooks. I look at this ad every sunday and this is the first time i can think of since best buy became a reseller that didnt run something for apple in their ads.

iLife '08 and iWork '08 may have had something to do with it.
