I must be getting old, I have no idea what OMGGUYSE means (after OMG, that is...)
no............
its the pressure of your hands/wrists resting on the top case in a place that has no support undernearth. its a thin piece of plastic, and nothing underneath it to give any support. has nothing to do with the magnets. they are not strong enough to do anything to the plastic.

They do tend to smudge, but you just get a cloth and wipe it off.
Apple got rid of Firewire from the Aluminum MacBook, but changed their mind with the 13" MBP. That also happened a few years ago, they took out FW800 from a MBP and people were outraged so they put it back.I highly doubt that would happen. They got rid of it, so I don't think they would just change their mind![]()
OMG GUYS spelled incorrectly.I must be getting old, I have no idea what OMGGUYSE means (after OMG, that is...)
MY guess is that the new MacBook will no longer have a DVD drive. I feel that the new laptop will take cues from the Air and the Netbooks by eliminating the internal drive.
If they removed firewire from the consumer notebook I dont think people would mind.

You could of course try washing your hands!![]()
I really hope you are correct. I hope they eliminate the DVD drive, superdrive, combo drive - whatever you want to call it.
I think this instruction for sharing a CD / DVD drive from another machine is simple enough:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1777
Also, if the external drive for $100 is reasonable
When it comes to media sharing, those flash drives are in excess of DVD capacity and cost about $10 for 4GB or $27 dollars for 16GB USB flash drives.
To be fair I couldn't function easily without my Superdrive on my iMac but that is an entirely different target than the entry level laptop.
No DVD, slightly bigger battery, Please![]()
Hardly anyone buys the MacBook now anyway, it's just to get people into the store. They then see for an extra $200 they can get an infinitely superior MacBook Pro, and walk out spending an extra $200. The $999 MacBook is just a teaser.
Not to mention $200 worth of accessories sounds nicer. There's actually a good amount of sales for the MacBook; there's a psychological barrier at the $999 price point; the MBP may be a great deal for $200 more but some people aren't willing to cross into the 4-digit territory.
Eww, no. I can't see Apple going back to colors, but if they do, I can't see them even considering another "Tangerine".
