Hey guys,
currently I have an iMac. While it's a great computer, I want something portable. So I thought about replacing it with a MacBook 12", MacBook Pro 13" (or even an iPad Pro).
I need the device for:
Office, surfing the web and a bit of media consumption.
Sadly, using both Macs in store didn't clear my mind.

My thoughts about the MacBook Pro:
- it has more power
- it has better battery life
- it has a bigger screen (good for split view)

My thoughts about the MacBook:
- it is lighter
- it has more storage (because I'd buy the 128GB MBP which costs the same in my country as the 256GB MB)
- the speaker seemed to be better (please correct me if I'm wrong! - is the speaker good on the MBP?)
- its keyboard made a better impression the the MBP's

While I could live with the single port on the MB, I wonder if the screen is big enough. The single inch more on the MBP was a big difference. But the 12" screen might be enough when I use it on my desk.
I also wonder if the MBP is portable enough. Even though I'm a tall man with big hands, this machine seemed bulky compared to the MB. I want to carry the device with me in my bag all the time.

What's your take on my thoughts so far?
I just want to buy a device that's portable, functional and will provide good services for the next few years.
I'm thankful for any advice you can offer.
My brain says MBP but my heart says MB .

Not a lot any of us can say you have listed your pros and cons and got everything spot on you just have to decide.

If your primary usage is light computing with mobility as a primary use case, you can't beat the MacBook. The difference in weight and volume is substantial for something you intend to carry everywhere with you. I don't think the difference in screen sizes will matter that much, personally. 12" hiDPI screens are kind of the sweet spot between function and portability.

I have a 13" MBP and I'm struggling to accept how it can be considered "bulky." Yes, I know it's bigger than the MB, but it's still VERY sleek compared to most laptops on the market.

I don't think anyone is saying it's bulky. Depending on the next gen 13" I may be going back from my 15" for the size and battery life. So no..its not bulky but compared to the 12" macbook it defiantly has some heft. The Macbook feels no larger then an iPad, where you can defiantly feel a macbook pro 13" in your backpack.
