Flyfish I already got 2 infractions from responding to you, but I'll just say this. No matter how much you pretend you're helping and being a good guy, I can see right through you. All your posts start with things that you know I'll respond to and an argument will be made of, then you'll post "Good Luck" or whatever, so it seems like I'm in the wrong (hence my 2 infractions). You know you're trying to annoy me intentionally, just admit it and then I'll stop and be kool with u.

Anyway, this isn't about me, it's about fixing my mac so (for the moment) I'll **** and leave it for the sake of my macbook. Also in response to your question, It could very well be a humidity issue that damaged the ram.

If we agree that the rams faulty and that's the issue, what's the solution?

Remove the faulty ram, leave the good ram in (which slot?), put in the battery and charger and it should work? As simple as that or what?

*EDIT*

Hmmm damn so its not a faulty RAM afterall? Must be the Logic board then? Or am I missing something?

If it is the Logic Board, I'm not replacing. My mac is in next to perfect condition apart from that, no dead pixels etc. Could I sell it for parts or something? And how do I backup the HD? thanks

TBH I'm really not sure, it's hard to tell what it feels like. I recon a new hybrid word has to be made for a dusty-powdery substance lol.

Erm maybe a bit more powdery than dusty perhaps tho :)

Even though I took the best care of the macbook ever, someone could have easily spilt something on it without me knowing.

What shall I do now mate? :)

Seeing that RAM chip that's definitely not from the lube. Either it's logic board (as others think it is) or my theory is still plausible (that something got shorted). Is there a smell? (don't inhale the white powder )

I know your are far away from an Apple store. I didn't read if you were in warrantee or not. If you are in warrantee, Apple will fix your machine for free. At this point it sounds like your machine is broken and will need a new part to fix it. If you are under Applecare give them a call. They will send you a mailer to mail your machine to their repair center.

Sorry about not updating the thread, I was on holiday for exactly a week, just got back now.

Thanks for all the new comments.

It doesn't seem to smell burnt anymore, but I'm not sure if it did at the time or not.

It must be the logic board -.-'

Thanks for all the assistance guys but I guess I got a big expensive bit of plastic.

On another note, is there a market for apple parts or anything? Thanks
