No iBooks tomorrow...

I am really starting to think 5/19 in New York with Steve..... which means this thread and all the rumors are BS. If I am indeed correct... I will not look at these rumors sites any more!!! (yeah right!).

which means I win!

Tomorrow's decision will be the Beatles on iTunes.

Does anybody remember the news of a bulk order for Minis being denied right before they went Intel?

I guess somebody could try that if they felt up to it.

I too am starting to believe it will be 5/19.

In fact that Apple don't give the public info for their upcoming products, might that hurt Apple? Like the consuments aren't ready for it and they loose marketparts?

Sure it is fun and can be exciting, but is it worth it for badder sales?

Sorry, I'm stupid today..

So these mystical boxes arriving in retail stores with orders not to open until tomorrow....

Would the last person (manager?) out in one of these shops kindly take one into an elevator (lift) and do what needs to be done please.

I'm not so sure that the boxes have the new iBooks.....I think there's a 50% chance that they're just the special edition ipods, a 35% chance of them being Macbooks, and a 15% chance of them being the 17" MBP.

hope dies last, even if faith is already dead.

i don't think the macbooks will be announced tomorrow (there are no new insider specs today), but there is still hope...

umm, i think he did say he would go PC if the problems continued...

and the problem with people who make such dramatic claims is that you're talking about ONE machine...yes, it's awful that it happened to you, yes, i know how much of a pain it is...but that doesn't mean the whole ibook or p-book line is somehow crap. it's ONE machine...i've taken my ibook into the apple store four times now. is it a pain? sure...but i don't think a PC is going to be magically more sturdy or more well-built. sometimes we just get the crappy one of the bunch...c'est la vie.

I don't want to go PC. This iBook is my first ever Apple computer that I have bought, and I am quite disappointed at the let downs, not to mention how slow the machine gets when you open alot of things - my Athlon 2700 is no where near a slow as this. It feels like a 500Mhz Celeron sometimes. I just expected it to be snappy, but not this slow. It has 1GB memory so its really the processor thats letting it down...

I wanted to get a PowerBook G4 12" last year but for £999 (H/E discount) with 768MB RAM it wasnt worth it, so I went 12" iBook w/ 1GB RAM for £750.

That is why I desperately want the new MacBook, because I've used my friends MacBook Pro - its a 2Ghz Core Duo its so friggin fast! I'v also used a MacMini in store that sports the 1.66Ghz Duo and it blows away the G4s, theyre just crap compared to the Intel Processors. Yes I want to run Windows just to play games on it, have a portable DigiCam (why not?!:p) and I will buy one if it has a GMA950 because most of the time I want a smooth GUI not the sloppy G4 experience - it feels similar to my iMac G3 Panther when you have 5 Safaris and the iLife bundle open! Garageband is simply unusable on it, so I am desperate for a decent portable system. I don't want the MB PRo because it is too expensive and 15". Im happy to pay £1k for a MBPRo 13" so long as it has a dedicated GPU that is not a mobile X1300 (theyre more crap than the current 9550).

I dont want to have to go PC but I will if I am forced to...

'The' special edition iPods? You say that like it's almost a given.

Apple is going to get some serious bad press if they have documents out talking about an "all new ibook" that's more affordable than ever...and then they have to admit they were talking about a machine that's a year old, and hasn't had a price reduction.

Isn't there something in consumer law that says how long a product can be referred to as "new"?
I think the text is actually written by CompUSA, not by Apple as Engadget seems to think.

yeah apple is releasing a red hot chili peppers special edition ipod. I just dont know if it will be release at the same time as the album (which is Tues.....)

No 22 more posts and its official.

I think it will be the 19th because of this. Its not a Tuesday or Wed and will throw everyone off guard.

Also what is this?
The Khalif also mentions as an aside that the 13.3 inch MacBook Pro is also on schedule featuring 1.83Ghz Core Duo processors, and that Apple has toyed with the idea of a 2.33Ghz upgrade option for their high end MacBook Pro models but is holding off for Intel's Merom chip due for release this summer. On a performance per watt basis, Intel claims Merom will outperform Yonah by 20%, while maintaining the same battery-life as Yonah. ®
I did not know of a 13.3 inch MBP

I wonder if this special edition iPod will come in "RED"? I wonder if I can pay full price to have all of the old Chilipeppers Music put on there for me by Apple?
