You mean where WiFi is on but no networks are showing? If so you forgot to run patch-kexts.sh. The full installer doesn't install a recovery mode btw.

Okay, boot into the installer USB that you made to install macOS Big Sur (it's your new recovery mode) and open Terminal under Utilities then run:

/Volumes/Image\ Volume/patch-kexts.sh

Bit i did not used an usb installer... i did it directly. 🙁

Okay, here you go, you're going to have to somehow download this DMG file I just made (maybe with Ethernet or download it on another computer and put it on), if you can't just ask and I'll put something else together that would maybe also work, just it might include a little bit more effort on my side and maybe yours too.

Download this, and mount it like you would with any other DMG file. Then, run /Volumes/Install macOS Big Sur/patch-kexts.sh in Terminal booted into your Big Sur installation. Hopefully, that will work.

Oh thanks a lot! So i can just mount this .dmg directly and install without not burning it as usb bootable, right?
 
Hmmm i downloaded and mounted it but it appears this:

(translating it: it wasn't possible to open the application "install macOS big sur" because it's incompleted or damaged)

And weirdly the .dmg have just 70MB, that's right?

Yeah, that's just a placeholder so patch-kexts.sh works. Just run /Volumes/Install macOS Big Sur/patch-kexts.sh and restart and everything should work.

I tried it ( i just changed the name of .dmg to 'macosbigsur' to be easier to find it). What should i do? 🙁 Sorry for asking a lot.

@jackluke an easy question for you:

As I continue to troubleshoot why my patched BigSurBaseSystemfix USB installer gets hung after the 2nd Apple logo/progress bar (to gray screen)... is there any way to apply Hax3 to your USB installer ahead of the Recovery menu?

I'm on the iMac 11,1 with Nehalem CPU, which is what I think is giving me problems. I tried dropping your Hax3.sh into the booted OS terminal, but that didn't seem to help anything.

Your gray screen Language Chooser problem reminds me of the same problem we had with Barry’s v 0.3.1 micropatcher back with beta 9. See Barry’s post. It was really a trampoline problem. Do a search for ‘Language Chooser’.

Have you applied the dosdude1 APFS firmware patch?
If yes, try to format in APFS the destination drive, if you install it into another APFS drive, you can simply add a Volume for Big Sur (ex: macOS Big Sur HD).
Remove the unused devices from your Mac Pro (also the original Bluetooth module from the Main Board) and restart the installation process like I described you.

An option to roll back these patches would be welcomed if feasible.

At present, say for the great DosDude1 Catalina Patcher, without the uninstall option, I have to install the whole system again if the legacy video patch or USB or wifi/BT patch is unnecessarily applied, although there are instructions to revert manually which are a bit troublesome.

Just a suggestion to consider.

You can do this right now using the patch-kext.sh -u all the time. I use this several times a day to check my own changes to the patch-kext.sh. Of course you have to reboot and rerun the patch-kext.sh again.

There are no longer legacy video patches included which will be installed automatically to your particular machine unless you are overriding the auto detection or overrule the script manually by changing it. This is a @dosdude1 patcher problem and not related to any of the Big Sur patchers here.

Can you boot only the 1 GB USB BigSurBaseSystemfix (without SharedSupportfix) to the graphical environment ?

Since you are using Catalina loader with khronokernel patch maybe there is some entry changed, so you could try to use my OpenCore4b1 setup : https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/opencore4b1-zip.976384/
simply unzip the EFI folder to any external USB MBR FAT32 formatted device, then use alt-option key to load it.

If also my opencore setup still can't boot the BaseSystem menu, then to set a machine default nvram language, simply try booting without OpenCore any previous macOS Recovery or any stock USB macOS Installer and then from menu "Change Language" and select another language, then select again English, at reboot the patched BigSur Beta installer should boot its graphical environment.

Anyway I guess this recovery "language selector" issue is only due to the fact that apple given a weird name to the 11.1 beta install app , I suppose that on next public release they rename to "Install macOS Big Sur" so also my previous BaseSystem fix should work as intended.
