Battery life has still been bad for me on Ventura despite the updates to 13.3 and 13.3.1. I'm seeing like 4 hours "wireless web" use on my 2017 MBP whereas on Catalina I saw maybe 6-7. It was also draining excessively in sleep, but thats a bit better on 13.3, although again still not as good as before. Battery was replaced about a year ago by Apple. It has ~220 cycles on it a the moment.

Messages keeps crashing on me, then forcing me to sign in again.... and the sign in fails.
The Only fix I've found is to just reboot...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Frustrating, considering this bug is supposed to be one of the fixes in the release.

The only improvement they appear to have made is that it only appears after one double click (once the enclosing folder has been moved or renamed as before) then it opens as normal.

So we've gone from double clicking being completely unresponsive...

...To getting 'file not found' with the subsequent update (but still unresponsive no matter how many times I double click)...

...to it just doing it once.

Maybe they will fix this utterly basic functionality at the third attempt. What a joke.

On a positive note, my M1 MBP boots up in roughly 10 seconds now. I’m still seeing some kind of a hang or delay when connecting to my dock with a couple external drives, but then everything seems pretty smooth, IMO….*

*Again, the Messages bug I’m having is pretty annoying. I’m only able to go 2-3 days before this happens again. And when I’m logged back into macOS after rebooting, my iPhone and iPad both show the pop up message that a device has signed into iMessage and has access to FaceTime, etc.. And THAT is disturbing. Considering how well everything else is running. I just reinstalled 13.3.1 as well, and am seeing no change- for the better or worse.

Once again, getting locked out of iMessage on my MBP. Seems like if I quit iMessage and leave it closed overnight and then try opening in the morning, it fails with a prompt to sign in, and that fails over and over. If I reboot, it opens right up normally.

After the reboot, my iPhone reflects as having my MBP as being just added...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm also unable to make any changes to my Safari Bookmarks on macOS without some warning about how my bookmarks are currently being synced and no changes can be made. And just yesterday I started seeing two more phantom iCloud Tabs as being open in Safari (my iPhone shows my MBP has 2 tabs open, it does not).

Everything is great!

When I turn on or reboot my MacBook Pro M1 and I login, my Desktop appears as expected but some seconds later the screen becomes black for about 1 second (then it goes back to normal). Is anyone else affected?
Same issue with my MacBook Pro M1

Anyone else having issues with "Night Shift" on Ventura 13.3.1?

My 14" M1 MBP display does not change hue after enabling "Night Shift".

Huh! After today’s macOS 13.3.1(a) release, I had one of my Desktop Wallpaper custom backgrounds at the initial macOS wallpaper login screen. Hopeful’s that’s by design and not a glitch!

I wasn’t aware that this was an option, but you can roll back from the Rapid Security Response if you want. Pretty cool!

Well I had to use that rollback "Remove & Restart" feature, and able to confirm that it seemed to have worked.
The Rapid Security Response macOS 13.3.1(a) release created a few really bad issues with my MacBook 2017 12" Intel 1.4GHz Core i7 with 16GB memory.

First, Spaces did not work well, it knew I had 9 virtual desktops but did not allow me to select any desktop. The OS deteriorated from there over the next few minutes, to the point no windows could be selected, keyboard selectively worked, I could cmd-tab to an open Terminal window but typing did nothing (since I could not use the mouse to select the Apple menu item to reboot I was hoping to use the Terminal to type the command to reboot, I ended up rsh into my MacBook and rebooting that way).

Second, if the MacBook went into screensaver, there was no way to trigger the pw entry prompt as it did not seem to notice keyboard actions and mouse movements/clicks (had to rsh to reboot).

Strangely, when I first applied the Rapid Security Response macOS 13.3.1(a) release update, after the installation and restart I was faced with a blank User & Password entry login prompt without the usual selection of users (I do have root enabled on my machine) but instead of entering my credentials I just clicked the Reboot option - I was suspicious of that blank prompt. After that reboot I got the usual login prompt (user already selected). I wonder if not entering into the blank prompts had any adverse effect to the update completion (I doubt it would but).

Did anyone else encounter any similar issues ?

I’ve been having an issue since some point after 13.1 where if I open the Notification Center sidebar in macOS, and scroll quickly, everything will freeze for maybe 15-90 seconds and then bring me to a black screen and then a quick login screen again. Like a crash, not a reboot. I’ve been able to narrow it down to a few apps even being installed let alone active as a widget or something. Happened to me even with only stock app widgets running.

I’ve even reinstalled macOS completely, and am still having the same issue seemingly at random. There’s only so much troubleshooting we can do, you know? I’ve filed feedback with Apple, but that’s been a Blackhole void for years now. I’m lucky if anything I file gets marked “less than 10” people having the issue 😝 In fact, since whenever Craig F made that public comment about Apple Feedback and taking it more seriously? I don’t think I’ve seen movement on a single issue I’ve filed, let alone anything for maybe a year or two before. To me, that’s literally a waste of time and data, uploading logs and junk to try and help them..

When macOS works, it’s great! When it doesn’t and you need help, well…
Sorry Charlie.

HA! This just happened to me now. Unbelievable.
