Just downloaded latest Ventura and Safari on two M1 MacBooks. Now both have crackling coming from internal speakers. Swell. Cannot find any useful info online and Apple chat was useless. Diagnostics were fine. Has anyone had this problem and a fix?

why are you posting this twice? not useful. anyway, responded on the thread you started...

Seems to be, for me, that at some point after being signed in for a while (days even?), if I quit out of the Messages app but then reopen again, it prompts me to sign into Messages but then just hangs on the login. After rebooting & signing back into macOS, it behaves as though I've just signed into iCloud for the first time and prompts to setup FaceTime. Then I get notifications on my iPhone & iPad about a new device being added, and a prompt to open Settings. This has happened 3-4 times now.

One bug that seems to have been fixed in 13.3 is the right side of settings app no longer just freezes on occasions. At least I haven't seen it happen since updating

When I turn on or reboot my MacBook Pro M1 and I login, my Desktop appears as expected but some seconds later the screen becomes black for about 1 second (then it goes back to normal). Is anyone else affected?
Do you use macbook pro 2021 model? I also have the same bug with my mbp 2021. This is definitely a bug that only exists on mbp 2021 models.

I manually kicked off the 13.3.1 install on my Macbook Air 2020 (M1) while on battery. When I went to check on it later it was unresponsive. The keyboard light was on, but the screen was black and wouldn’t wake using the touchpad. I plugged it in and let it sit there and it eventually rebooted and did the install. When I logged in it displayed a problem report screen about failing to shutdown.

Everything else seemed okay as it reported 13.3.1 was installed and I was able to shut it down and boot it up again without issue so I’m assuming it was some weird fluke.

Weird. I have had this problem in the past - with 12.x (Monterey) releases!

I have had this for my M1 air for a while. (Since 12.0 Beta) I think this is a hardware related issue. Not sure how to fix it. Just got used to it

13.3.1 broke stage manager lol

Now in some apps e.g photo, Xcode sim, PD it hides windows like you were working in fullscreen mode.
Najs.

Took like 20 mins to install on my 2017 MBP. Several reboots. Seems fine after the install so far.

Hello All,

I just updated from Big Sur to Ventura 13.3. Now when I leave my computer and return 30 minutes later it reboots. Of course Apple wants be to back up and reinstall. Any Suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Has anyone else noticed this update messed up the Touch Bar when on FaceTime call... it says "join" the whole entire time... and non responsive???

In 13.3.1 Stage manager only show 2 windows on the left. If I want to have 3rd "space" then the whole bar is hidden to the left. Previously I could have many up on the left.

Have they pulled this most recent update now? It was available over the weekend but now when I check:

I work for a school with 900 MacBook Airs in the environment. We have a handful of 2020 Intel based Airs from the brief period right before the M1's came out. We are having a heck of a time with these Intel based models getting them to even show an update for 13.3.1. Anybody else seeing this? We have mostly older MacBook Airs that stop at Monterey and M1 MacBook Airs in high school who don't seem to have any problems with this.

I don't have any experience with Apple Configurator, and I don't think this is the right place to ask this. Maybe asking a separate question inside of macOS Ventura (13) would be the best thing to do tbh.

2018 and newer are the ones that can get Ventura.

We only use Configurator when necessary. We use JAMF for management. JAMF does not programmatically let us force updates. We use a tool called Nudge in conjunction with JAMF to annoy users into updating but these 2020 Intel based Airs are not even showing an available update until we poked at it hard enough. Nudge policy just looks at a version number and if that computer meets it or not.

You'll want to make sure you don't have any profiles blocking updates, but even still, using MDM to get software updates to install seems to not work more often than it does work.
Also, Configurator isn't useful in Intel Macs as a way to reinstall the OS– it can only revive or restore T2 firmware but that doesn't include the OS. You may want to look at the erase-install script as a way to get these computers updated. In spite of the name, it doesn't only erase and install OS upgrades.

I've updated to Ventura 13.3.1 yesterday and ever since then, I am experiencing a "typing lag" on my iMac 27 5K 2020. I takes approx half second to reflect the keyboard that is pressed on the screen, no matter what app I use (Craft, Notes, stock Mail app, Safari, Messages...) Is anyone else experiencing this?
