Since the release of macOS 13.2 in late January, some Mac users have complained about network file sharing via SMB not working anymore. Fortunately, with the upcoming macOS 13.3 update, it appears that Apple has fixed the issue.

Several users who were affected by the issue have noted that network file sharing is functional again as of the third beta of macOS 13.3 and later, with one user saying that Apple confirmed a fix was implemented. macOS 13.3 is in the final stages of beta testing and is expected to be publicly released as soon as next week.

Users complained about macOS 13.2 breaking network file sharing across the MacRumors Forums, Apple Support Community, Reddit, and Twitter.

File Sharing can be enabled in System Settings → General → Sharing and allows for a Mac's files to be accessed remotely over a local network. For example, a user may have a Mac mini set up as a server and enable File Sharing on that computer in order to remotely access files from their primary computer, such as a MacBook Pro.

Now they need to fix the Spotlight issues -- I've been unable to use Spotlight to search files since the 13.1 release, and none of the online fixes seem to work for me. So frustrating not to be able to search files effectively and conveniently. (The "Find Any File" app is pretty good, but obviously slow in comparison to Spotlight)

Was hoping the headline meant iCloud Drive sync too, as that has been very unreliable since "upgrading" to Ventura. It was fast and rock solid throughout Big Sur, don't know how they keep messing these things up and then just ignoring them.

I did open a case on feedbackassistant.apple.com troubleshooting with them and I want to think that I contributed to this

Anyway I'm not running the beta so I'd have to wait for 13.3 like a peasant 🫠

My point being, when you have bugs use that system, it really helps them fix them

Not necessarily. Many users have expended time and money trying to fix their equipment when the problem was completely an apple caused software issue. Folks wanted some kind of backup as their preferred local system was inoperative.

I am not holding my breathe that Apple would ever consider reimbursing these unnecessary expenses and wasted time.

I'm more curious whether they will give us a multipath SMB SERVER in the next big OS release.
We have multipath SMB client today, which I guess is useful and fine if you are connecting to Windows corporate infrastructure, but it would be nice if SOHO Apple-only networks could also get an SMB speed boost by being able to use ethernet and WiFi in parallel.

My issue is that my 10GB ethernet connection to my Synology DS1621+ keeps losing connection over ethernet and then connects via wifi. When it does that, I can't take advantage of the fast transfer speed with a direct ethernet connection and have to use a slow wifi connection to my server. It's ridiculous. Then I have to reboot everything and hope that my ethernet connection to my MacBook holds. Hopefully, this update will fix it. Who knows.
