it happens to me also in Ventura 13.6.1 , Macbook 11,3 Mid 2014 with Nvidia 750m , happened with oclp 1.2.1 and 1.3.0.
I also think it's realted to Kepler GPU

Same here, for a SanDisk 16 GB USB flash drive (seems to happen only for some drives, not for all): evidently, now, a 32 or 64 GB drive is needed, as Sonoma seems to be slightly too big to fit on some 16 GB drives…
… Another recurrent semi-random glitch… Sometimes, for some reason, right-clicking suddenly ceases to work: thus, relaunching the Finder every time you right-click, instead of showing the contextual menu. (And also, sometimes, the Bluetooth menu bar item becomes invisible or greyed out, even if it still works; and the battery menu bar item might disappear, from time to time, thus requiring a logout-login or a restart, to reappear again.)

Updated OCLP to 1.3.0, rebooted and then updated to 14.2. Rebooted and installed root patches. All groovy.
Affirm 16GB Sticks are too small since 14.2 as an install media!
Are you using a BT mouse or a USB wireless mouse? I had this problem with the wireless mouse---it was so frustrating when I would right click. The menu would pop up and disappear 3-4 times before settling down. I thought it was the battery---nope. All worked on my wife's Windows 11. I switched to BT mouse and all has been good.
iMac 14,2. Updated to OCLP 1.3.0 then OTA update to 14.2. So far no issues after checking Apple TV, Photos, Maps etc. Continuity Camera works with iPhone 14pro, unlock with Apple Watch works. Airplay receiver does not work, iMac shows as a speaker on iPhone/iPad, but when selected, no sound or just reverts back to device speaker. My workaround for this has been Rogue Amoeba Airfoil, which works very well and has more features.

Going from 14.XX to 14.2---is everyone installing via USB or simply updating through "settings"? How about 13.XX to 14.2?
Developers recommend to use a full USB installer. There is no need for root patches because patches are within the installer.
rMBP 15" mid 2014 base model (only Intel Iris Pro) with macOS 14.2 + OCLP 1.3.0 screen
mirroring to old AppleTv classic works - video also. But I mentioned that sound isn't streamed to AppleTV. Youtube vids are mirrored to AppleTV but sound is still on MBP.🤷♂️

Thanks---I wasn't sure with Sonoma----when on Ventura I did every update via settings. Sonoma some are doing it via USB and some via settings. It appears that incremental updates (all) should be done via USB, at least with Sonoma or to Sonoma.

With macOS 14.1 I had freezing Lock Screen but since installing root patches in secure boot – no freezing Lock Screen anymore.
✅ With the macOS 14.2 + OCLP 1.3.0 no issues 🥳 - except for the " Memories" function in the Photos app (Photos app crashes)

Since some of you are still having problems with Sonoma, here are my tips:
- ❗️ *NEVER use Memoji* as User Pic / iCloud User Pic with OCLP
- ❗️ *First install OCLP* (if upgrading i.e. macOS 13 ➡️ 14 ALWAYS❗️"Create macOS Installer")
OR IF you're on macOS "Sonoma" then first❗️check if there's a NEW version of OCLP and install this *INCLUDING* new "Build and Install Opencore" to you start disk + Root patches - Now you could use the system updater to get the latest macOS 14.x version – but better is to wait till OCLP developers push out a new OCLP patcher version that includes the corresponding macOS update.😉
- ❗️ *Install the root patches* – in "secure boot mode" always the best

Updated rMBP10,1 mid-2012 using OTA, going from 14.1.2 + OCLP 1.2.1 to 14.2 + OCLP 1.3.0. As recommended on the Dortania releases page I installed OCLP 1.3.0 and root patches first. I also installed the KDK for this macOS build (23C64) while I was preparing. I don't know if it was required, or whether OCLP would have grabbed it automatically.
It was a pretty bumpy ride. I had to force reboot a few times, the rMBP internal display was glitching out with with that rolling static thing. Had to briefly connect Magic Keyboard 2 & Magic Mouse 2 using Lightning cable for it to find them. One time it came up with no hardware acceleration which fixed itself after rebooting.
If I were going to do it again I'd use a full USB installer. I'm thinking maybe that was at least part of the problem.
Anyway, it's now working perfectly and I'm very glad to say goodbye to 14.1.* releases which were pretty much unusable on this Mac. No fans currently running, Activity Monitor shows all nominal.

I upgraded my test Sonoma partition on my cMP5,1 to 14.2, with OCLP 1.3.0 used of course.
Everything fine...except I've noticed on my setup is that the menu bar (Control Centre) WiFi icon does not toggle on or off any WiFi signal correctly and doesn't accurately list the broadcasting devices - both working fine prior to the 14.2 upgrade. It shows 'On' whether or not WiFi is turned on or off via the System Preferences pane (which does list the available devices and does turn WiFi on or off completely). I'm not sure if the menu bar icon fault (not mirroring the SysPrefs WiFi state) is an Apple one introduced with 14.2 or is something the new OCLP is causing or it's not interacting with the new OS. Not a big issue but maybe something others have noticed?

Better do a seperate download in my experience this happens after a reboot when the internal upgrade was used - no problems with standalone download then apply root patches again.
A bit late to the party. Did update my 9,2 using standalone installer and 1.3.0. Update only hang once, had to reboot in safe mode and login. After that everything went just fine including applying rootpatches after reboot.

If already applied for sure not necessary ;-) - but because of that problem i do seperate downloads instead of using the internal update feature.
According to my knowledge you just need the one that's matching your OS version and can delete all other. It's neither necessary that you keep the installer(s) in that folder once KDK was successfully installed. I always handle it accordingly and my system works well.
