Writing about the current macOSs and OCLP, nothing theoretical. Predicting the future is above the pay-grade.
iMac 13,2 (metal capable)
Updated to 14.5 via OTA over 14.4.1, using OCLP 1.5n (from 4.2.24); no major issues noted so far.
"Memories" in iPhoto are fully functional.
MacBook Pro 5,2 (mid 2009, not metal compliant)
Installed 14.5 beta1 OTA , "over" 14.4.1 and using OCLP 1.5n, onto an internal SSD. The OCLP did detect need for new KDK and downloaded it (via Ethernet connection), before proceeding with installation. Multiple reboots during installation, sometimes mimicking a complete stall, but does complete. NVRAM reset was required to complete the process, and SMC reset, thereafter, to reactivate keyboard backlight. While no major issues noted, "Memories" function, in iPhoto, does crash when trying to activate the "slide show" (See post #6070 by HVDS)
Networking, Apple applications, LibreOffice suite, and other 3rd party apps are fully functional. System and applications are responsive.

Got 14.4.1 installed on my mid 2010 MacBook pro. Installed without issue, although I did need to use the usb dock with a wired keyboard and mouse to do the post install patches, but once they were done all works as normal. Using it now for roughly 3 hours since I did the update from 14.3.1, and no issues noted. I'm not sure.... but Safari seems faster and smoother as well.

This might be a coincidence, but the battery was trash, like it only worked for maybe 40 minutes on high sierra, and when I put sonoma 14.3.1 on it..... battery was like it did not exist. just decided to see if there was any difference in battery performance or if I need to actually order one. Been using it for about an hour on battery and it still going strong, at 95% remaining, still says "service recommended" but if it is gonna act like there is actually a battery inside, even if it is only good for an hour or hour and a half.... don't have to rush and order a battery.
I updated my Early 2015 i7 13-inch MBP to MacOS Developer Beta 14.5 using OCLP 1.4.3 with the install process going smoothly.
No issues running the upgraded OS on either my 13-inch or my 11-inch laptops so far . . .

That's a great question because I haven't run bootcamp in a very long time on my Mac and as such am not sure if wiping your MacOS partition and do a clean install of a new OS would disable your ability to boot into Windows via Bootcamp by holding down the option key during startup. My guess is you should be able to but don't just go by my word on this as I have not tried installing a dual partition with a bootcamp/Windows being one of them.
Perhaps there is someone on this forum who might be able to answer your question regarding this . . . I am now curious to see if you can . . .

A lot more information is needed like partition structure kind of w* setup uefi or legacy installation etc... here is may not the right place for w* discussions - but i simply would try to install newest OCLP and then simply update OTA directly your monterey partition to sonoma - give it a try ;-) & good luck.
Safari Text Rendering Issues /w Sonoma on iMac14,2
Anyone else is experiencing Text Rendering Issues since Sonoma when using Safari? I was getting distorted text here and there after minutes / hours (?) of usage. No matter which Update with Sonoma, or OCLP - it just does not go away. This is so frustrating!

Besides this I also have Issues with Metal rendering (I suppose) - but I'll post this separately here and on Discord, maybe some OCLP-angel can help!

First full day of using my mid 2010 MacBook Pro on Sonoma 14.4.1. No unexpected unwanted surprises which is awesome, it actually seems to be snappier than it was and it was no slouch on 14.3.1. Safari seems to have gotten a speed increase as well, which is a good thing. It is unbelievable how well this mid 2010 MacBook Pro runs Sonoma since it is so far away from the last supported version of macOS which was high sierra. I think maybe tonight I will allow my late 2009 iMac to do the update from sonoma 14.2.1 to 14.4.1, obviously updating oclp first. Would be nice to have stage manager but it is what it is and certainly cannot complain since it is running the latest version of macOS and it is 14 years old. AWESOME JOB TO THE CREW AT OCLP. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK!!!
until yesterday - thanks oclp 1.4.2 - i had a nicely running sonoma 14.3.1 sytem on my 11,1 macbook pro from late 2013.
then i updated oclp 1.4.2 to oclp 1.4.3 - but after applying the root patches and rebooting i got stuck somewhere in the boot processs ...
with the here recommended measures:

by jessie's flying (thanks a lot for this!!!) - within terminal in recovery mode -
i was able to succesfully start up my macbook pro again - just without the root patches
(and therefore without graphics acceleration, wifi, ...)
after applying the oclp 1.4.3 root patches again, i again get stuck in the boot process -> same procedure ... and so on
has anybody here some helpful thoughts on this?

Im new to OpenCore. Ive patched my MacBook Pro 2012 model to Sonoma and after a few hours of use after a reboot any time I right-click or try to paste a url Safari crashes. I have since downloaded Firefox and Chrome. The same thing happens on all three browsers. I haven't noticed the issue with any other app. Any one have any ideas on what might be causing the crashes?
Edit: Once it starts crashing nothing Ive tried works to fix it bar a reboot.

v1.5.0n installed and Sonoma is running a lot faster, been running over an hour or so with no issues. Thanks for your help.
I have an iMac16,2 that I updated today to Sonoma 14.4.1 with OCLP 1.4.3. It oddly gets stuck during boot either right at the beginning of the progress bar, or about 1/4 of the way in. It seems to go in a cycle where powering it down by holding the power button and then powering it back on again gets it to boot normally about every third boot.
The computer has an nvme drive and an sata drive. I've tried installing on both drives, reinstalling OCLP in safe mode, and it seems to behave the same off either drive. It will boot fine after the initial install and then the problems seem to start after doing root patching.
I also built the installer again and downloaded OCLP again just in case something was bad with the installer.
Anyone have any ideas what might be going on here. I'm not sure what else to try beyond doing some research into debugging OCLP which I have no experience with.

At this point I can manually restart until bootup is successful or boot off OCLP from the USB installer and then select the drive. That seems to work first try.

Did you check the crash logs yet? Is the same issue reproducible in a new user on that machine?
If you don't change the partition Bootcamp, it will remain independent. I myself recently returned to macOS Big Sur, and Windows 11 continues to work normally.
I had my first Kernal panic a few weeks ago on my 11,4 on 14.3.1 with OCLP 1.4.0---it has been running fantastic otherwise. However, this is the first time my panic came from my Intel 670 SSD and probably the adapter. Is there anything that could be done --- it only happens every few weeks and everything is is rock solid in the meantime. It only happens through the night at some point and like I stated...once every 2-3 weeks never when using it.
Deep sleep is turned off...
