Send a grab of the “Stats for nerds” overview for YouTube, that should show you what settings are being used for playback (normally restrictions like that apply only to AV1; you should be able to check your account settings and see if that is enabled)

Hey PropClear, I really appreciate all of your help as well… But I’m not currently a Discord user (Though I DO plan to get it all figured out as soon as I’m finished with a very time intensive project I’m working on).
I’ve noticed from your Sig that we both run EXTREMELY similar systems (including the pcie NVME that I failed to post in MY Sig). I also have an EXACT duplicate of my main machine with identical specs… and the results on that system are exactly the same…
If you happen to be on the OCLP Discord Channel and are feeling charitable… I would be more than appreciative if you could pass on the info I’ve provided… In return, I would be at your service if there were any issues that you run across that I might test for you on my systems.
I feel like since we run such similar systems, we’re Pretty much both in the same boat…

I don‘t have exactly your hardware i use also a active pcie NVMe adapter for speed reasons - so it‘s much much better to file on your own, because i’ll be not able to react because i’m simply on my hardware not on yours, so don't get me wrong, but it's just way too complicated - but for sure good (◔‿◔) luck!

So I just rebooted my Mac and found that on restart the drivers didn't seem to be loading (black/weird dock and no wallpaper is the giveaway). OCLP offered to upgrade itself and then install onto my drive, so I did that, and re-ran the patches, then restarted... now I can enter my password and the loading bar gets to about 25% and then freezes indefinitely. No luck on reboot. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Nevermind, I followed the directions here and got booting to work, so at least I can take a TM backup and then retry the root patch.

I've updated my machines to 14.4 since 1.4.3 was out (actually before) but I've not seen on any the notification for update to 14.4.1 neither the System seetings search for updates gives any. Has anyone been notified and updated thru OTA to 14.4.1 ? It seems that are some important fixes in, though I can't really complain from my current 14.4 install.
If you look back through the recent posts you'll see that several people, including me, have done updates to 14.4.1 "OTA", i.e. via System Settings.
Hey all, jiust a quick question here. I've noticed an issue when going between a supported and unsupported version of macOS on the same mac that OCLP changes the SIP config for the supported OS as well (according to SilentKnight.)
For example, when I did the update to 1.4.3 on my external drive containing Sonoma 14.4.1, when booting back into Monterey (even by de-selecting Open core as the boot loader and booting Monterey directly , SilentKnight still showed SIP/SSV disabled until I reset PRAM. Is there any way around this? I do know that OCLP has an option to allow supported systems. Should I enable this while going between unsupported, and supported, or should I hold off on OCLP while using a supported system, and only use it for unsupported so I don't have to keep resetting PRAM between the two. I haven't seen much discussion on this particular issue, so I thought I would ask.

I just performed the upgrade on my Mid2015 15-inch MBP DG to MacOS 14.5 Developer Beta using OCLP 1.5.0n successfully
This is my main laptop so I wanted to make sure that 14.5 would run without issue first on my 11-inch Air then test them on each of my Early2015 13-inch MBP laptops before installing this MacOS on my main 15-inch laptop. So far everything seems to operate good.
Can't say thanks to all on the dev team enough who all have dedicated their time to make all of this possible . . . well done!

Decided to do some more fiddling and testing today. When I clicked create macOS installer, on OCLP 1.4.3 to download the latest macOS (sonoma 14.4.1). It doesn't give me that option, it's only giving me 14.4, whereas last week I'm pretty sure I could download 14.4.1 directly in OCLP because that's what I put on my other MBP. Is this a display bug on the patcher app? Is it actually 14.4.1?

I had browsed the recent posts but most of the time it was unclear (at least for me, granted) if it was an OTA, in doubt I would always assume that it was a fresh install (as I did since long for a third machine as below in my signature). I'm finding strange that no OTA was proposed or even found on search (on both machines) because in the past I would always receive them since Ventura... Will have to check if there is some hardware limitation or else. Thks again.

Weird, I've tried to force the update to 14.4.1 given the .pkg from Macdctr, downloaded it (about 12.7 GB), installed it (system said that only about 42 MB was "needed") and then reboot and nothing, still 14.4. Did it twice more. Now trying to download the OCLP 1.4.3 installer but I would guess this is a full installer.
The full installer will be created in the applications folder. Did you ran the update from there?
I did my test drive update from OCLP 1.4.2 to 1.4.3, and then Sonoma 14.4 to 14.4.1. Didn't have any issues outside those that come with using an unsupported OS compared to supported.
