well if a quirky calculator is the worst thing that happens on unsupported mac harware i will take that all day long, its a small price to pay to keep this machine alive

Can you expand on this? How does OCLP "destroy" the chip? If I remove OCLP and run a vanilla MacOS that *is* supported by the 2017 MacBook Pro - is the T1 chip totally messed or something?
When were the additional security chips incorporated into Macs? was it 2016, or 2017? I don't remember for sure. I do remember, that I don't recall the 2017 iMac having them. I'm also glad my 2015 iMac doesn't have one. I was mainly curious because my memory is a bit fuzzy on the timeline.
well I have fix the bluetooth issue with my iMac 2011 this is what I did:
- I took OLCP version 0.6.9n and did a build and install to disk
- installed the root patches and did a reboot
- And yes bluetooth is working again
- downloaded the latest OLCP 1.0.1 and installed the root patches
bluetooth is still working I'm very happy this worked..
I hope that people with the same issues can use this too to get it working again

I'd be curious to know if this actually fixed it, or if you just needed to do a clean install and the latest could have been used for this as well.
Hey all, I have a question about Full Disk Access and OLCP vs native support.
I installed CCC and Superduper on my OCLP install of macOS and I wasn't asked to grant full disk access in the same way. For example CCC didn't give me the fish to drag, but still installed it's Helpertool Likewise, SuperDuper didn't give me the drag item either. In fact, neither one are listed in the Full Disk Access part of privacy and security and both claim to have full disk access. Is there a way I can change things so they work on a natively supported install? Would disabling allow unrestricted file system in the SIP preferences for OpenCore return this behavior to standard ?

I did already a clean install and didn't work it seems that the new OLCP installer sees the bluetooth adapter by its real identity while Venura sees it like a USB dongle. with version 1.0.0 of the OLCP the adapter sees it like bm.... and is not working on my iMac. so I did install and build with 0.6.9n and now it is seen again as a USB dongle and is working again. I don't think this is the answer but something is different for my iMac with the latest version of build and install. for now it's working perfecly again..
It just seems strange because they fixed BT functionality in the latest build, but for your older mac, you needed the older release. I had forgotten you did the clean install already. Glad you have it working.
Pleased to say I upgraded my 15,1 iMac 2014 from Ventura to Sonoma, booting from install USB with OCLP 1.0.1

OpenCore might be magic, but after running Sonoma a few days, I'm really trying to find a legit reason why i would want it over Ventura. It doesn't seem to have any real functionality that Ventura, or even Monterey has. Now, those on older macs, you might have more incentive than me to upgrade. However, having native support for Monterey, having tried Ventura, and now trying Sonoma I really don't see much different between the last two.
This makes me wonder about something, maybe you can answer. I have a MBP 11,4 with the last native OS was Monterrey.. and my last Time machine was 13.4.1 Ventura. If I wanted to go back to 13.4.1, which is not native and used OCLP, could I restore from Time machine now that I'm on Sonoma?
Thanks for report on success with cMP3,1. Two questions: 1. Do you have the reboot bug causing a reboot about 30 seconds after soft shutdown? 2. Does the Fenvi T919 AIC require a cable from the AIC to the BT connector on the cMP 3,1 motherboard for BT functionality?

Probably. You'll just have to do a clean install of Ventura and restore from a Time Machine backup in the setup. That shouldn't be a problem.
As mentioned, you'd have to clean install, as far as restoring, You could, but I would recommend you manually copying what you want to restore if it's not too much. I say this because an older version might have issues with a newer TM backup if apple has changed something. So, when I do a clean install, I always manually copy the files that I need to restore to avoid unnecessary problems.
I was hoping that someone with your config would answer. Since I don't see a response, I'll take a harmless guess. I have seen in hackintosh forums that your Fenvi Bluetooth does require a cable to an internal USB port. No guarantees that the same is true for your Mac, but I think it is a reasonable assumption.
Upgraded my Late 2012 Imac to Sonoma from Ventura using OPCLP 1.0.1 without any issues. It runs beautifully, but unfortunately I can´t watch DRM protected videos from Netflix, HBO or Disney+.

Thanks for your input deeveedee; I don't have a Fenvi card but am considering buying one and need to know if I need this cable too, but which goes not to a USB port but to the connector on the motherboard for the old (removed) standalone BT card.
is there a fix to this issue? i've been experiencing this since ventura. i'm using MBP 2015 13"
Hello, ill take a stab and reply since i'm on unsupported hardware. I've been on snow leopard, lion, Yosemite, el Crappytan(yes i spelled that correct, it was horrible) sierra, high sierra, Mojave, big sur, Monterey, Ventura 2 weeks ago and on Sonoma for 2 days, i disliked Ventura after watching it for a whole year from the side lines and people complaining about the massive bugs, but i installed anyway, it was just ok, but not bug free like Monterey, i actually love Monterey, its smooth and responsive, i was afraid to use Sonoma due to compatibility with Protools and all my 3rd party plugins but they worked and i'm happy. Sonoma is cool, only found one bug and it doesn't affect me(calculator says not a number). Between macos 13.6 and 14.0 i choose Sonoma because it feels better and its the latest and all my apps work. with that said, today i was accessing the wallpaper, when you click on them they have to download, there were much more than ever on there so it took about 40 minutes to get them all. The wallpaper are clearer than they've ever been and there's so many to choose from, so that was my eye candy, but i watched my hardrive go from 430gb available to (last i remember) 319gb which is about 110gb in wallpaper LMAO, so that was crazy to see. At least i think i'm done tinkering with any macos until the next macos. i Like it, it works and i still have Ventura, Monte, Big sur and Mojave all functional as well. i will say this and i agree with you that there isn't any difference in functionality between the two besides i think Sonoma is a touch smoother.
I have the same issue when using Safari. I’m sure there will be a fix at some point. A quick work-around would be to use Chrome. I haven’t had any issues streaming video with Chrome.

MacBookAir 7,2 OCLP 1.0.1 Sonoma, iMessage is not displaying current messages in the window, they pop up as notification on top right of screen but they do not show up in the iMessage app. I have done all of the normal sign out of iMessage and sign back in and sign out of iCloud and sign back in, reboot computer, to no avail. Have Sonoma running on new MacMini just fine with no issues from iMessage so doesn't seem to be an iMessage bug but rather an issue with OCLP or running Sonoma on this MacBookAir.
Any help would be appreciated, if I have missed something in the post please point me to the post.
