Apparently you missed it. iOS 27 does not support the the RDP protocol for remote back ups. It will no longer access the drive at all unless I put it in an external case and connect USB.
No one have said if it does or not, but I presume it will have an on/off button when launched.If not then I will be staying with what I have

Try the Reduce motion option in Accessibility.
I started using it around Mountain Lion and it’s the first setting I switch on a new Mac. Hard to go back!

that's my thinking too, and I noticed a typo in my post, should read "neither are compelling ..."
I think the compelling reason to jump on 27 is that all the x86 code (other then Rosetta) has been stripped out which could theoretically make for a leaner more responsive system

yea, that would be nice and eventually I will install 27, though I will say that my M1Max Studio runs still great after all this time so I'm certainly not compelled to upgrade my HW 😉

It's very early so few noticed that AI tidbit about changing weak passwords for you. That means AI will have to impersonate you log into websites and change your passwords. Yeah no thanks

Yeah, seems the only way to fix that entirely is to turn on Reduce Transparency. I've been doing that ever since the first version of Liquid Glass, along with Increase Contrast, so I rarely see the kinds of issues a lot of people have been seeing with LG.

I appreciate the Liquid Glass improvements that Apple is making in macOS 27. But those shiny borders around all the buttons are still goddamn ugly.

Folks like you and I are becoming a smaller and smaller percentage of the Mac userbase, so we're becoming less and less relevant to what the Apple board decides to do or not do. Apple IMO is going for the mainstream normie crowd coz that's where the money is. Hence my increasing fondness for bsd/linux alternatives.

In what respect? I'm still sporting the last pre-sale Version of Bartender as the alternatives suck (for me).
