This has to be the worst OS update in history. Bringing down your own servers and services because you don't understand how your customer base has grown. Pretty simple stuff. Pretty massive **** up.

Just spent 50 minutes on the phone with Apple tech support. After exhausting all the standard troubleshooting steps, my technician contacted a senior advisor. She was told that Apple is aware of the issue, is working to fix it, and that I should try again in 24 hours. This is as of 4:50 pm Mountain Time on 11/12/2020.

Guess I'll go back to obsessively checking if Arizona's election results are posted yet for the next 24 hours...

They say "resolved issue" but it's BS. OS still does not downloand, and apple music is still down. Apple is gaslighting its customers even when it comes to system status.

If you completed the download it still won't install. Those that haven't it seems to work. I have two machines and one is going the other with the completed download gives an error.

How can you delete the download and start again? Any idea where this is saved or cached?

I get my second Mac after being in PC land for the past 15 years and I'm immediately dealing with issues. Not a great first impression.

I got as far as downloading the update, restarting the mac, having the mac go through the 20-30 minute installation while restarting and boot into Catalina

Yup one machine I jumped on earlier and after a few hours completed the download won't install or re-download. Another I waited until Apple Support showed issue resolved and it works. Installing. Early adopters got hosed.

I tried updating on another Mac where I hadn't attempted it before. Same problem.
