Or it is just that when searching this issue the only information found was in MacRumors Forum, so we thought it would be a good idea to register on the website that we follow daily.Either that, or this is just showing up at the top of the Google search.
Not sure.... would be good if someone can confirm. Is this legit?
They say "resolved issue" but it's BS. OS still does not downloand, and apple music is still down. Apple is gaslighting its customers even when it comes to system status.Apple - Support - System Status

Then two minutes later more outages, bad day for Apple. View attachment 1662027
Isn't that pretty much what I said?Or it is just that when searching this issue the only information found was in MacRumors Forum, so we thought it would be a good idea to register on the website that we follow daily.
same thing has been happening to me all day. it started to download. stopped at 1.51gb for a while, when kept going until it hit about 3.46gb and that was it.
Apple this morning released macOS Big Sur to the public, and since the software went live, it has had extremely long download times that have prevented many from being able to install it.

Even those who have made progress through the download have run into problems where the software downloading process is suddenly interrupted and must be restarted. Others have reported being able to download the update and then having the installation fail. Apple's site appears to be having some major issues due to the number of people attempting to download the update at once.
In addition to these Big Sur download problems, Apple's developer site is also down at this time, and as a result, some third-party apps are unable to be opened up at this time.

An error occurred while installing the selected updates
It's not clear what's causing the problem. It could be that the macOS Big Sur downloads are failing due to a developer site issue or the developer site could be failing under the strain of macOS Big Sur demand, but it is clear that those hoping to get the new software should hold off until things are more stable.
Apple's System Status page is listing an issue with macOS Software Updates and says that the problem is "currently being investigated."

I’m not understanding that one I’m afraid. cant seem to find anything on Google either that explains it. I can see articles on how a Hackintosh needs a unique serial number to work, but a real Apple product already has the serial registered so I’m guessing that it couldn’t be used as you suggest.Part of Apples security process
I do not think its BS. I was able to install another update that just came through 20 minutes ago for pro video formats. They say "resolved issue" but it's BS. OS still does not downloand, and apple music is still down. Apple is gaslighting its customers even when it comes to system status.
Yup one machine I jumped on earlier and after a few hours completed the download won't install or re-download. Another I waited until Apple Support showed issue resolved and it works. Installing. Early adopters got hosed.Am I to understand that somebody starting their download for the first time now can update no problem? Is it just those of us that downloaded the file earlier during the problems that are in a sort of purgatory? If so, this sucks.![]()
I wouldn't risk it. Might as well wait a few hours/days instead of installing malware. Is this legit?
It's both Akamai. To my untutored eye its not clear if a62-253-3-166.deploy.akamaitechnologies.com is the problem - or swcdn.apple.com
I would refrain from downloading a file from a random URL pulled from Twitter. It's definitely not an official Apple URL. You might regret it.Not sure.... would be good if someone can confirm.
Yeah, I'm smelling what you're picking up lolI would refrain from downloading a file from a random URL pulled from Twitter. It's definitely not an official Apple URL. You might regret it.
I'm throwing up what you're picking down.Yeah, I'm smelling what you're picking up lol
I'm not going to link anything because it would involve piracy/hackintosh sites but iMessage uses the serial number, board number, and UUID as part of the authentication process to make sure it is running on Apple hardware. There are ways for pirates to work around it but that's part of the security of both Messages and Facetime.I’m not understanding that one I’m afraid. cant seem to find anything on Google either that explains it.
