Ohhhh did not even notice the change from 10.x to 11. Nice. Watch Windows follow suit soon.
Right now I'm not too keen on the flatness and pastel look. But I'm really intrigued by the possibilities of Apple silicon. It sounds like virtualization is going to be built into the OS, and that's fantastic if true. And the ability to run iOS apps natively is pretty exciting as well. Now we'll have to wait two more years....

Considering what OS X did for Apple, as a company, I’m shocked the change to MacOS 11 had no real acknowledgement.
Yeah and I'm pretty sure this isn't going to be a real release CPU they said they're working on new Mac class chips. For this dev unit they just threw in an iPad chip and it's already capable of all they showed today.

Finally ! I always thought it was silly to make it 10.❌ for years. Not a fan of "Big Sur" but whatever.
Woooow! Big changes are coming with Big Sur! LOVE the redesign and makes Catalina feel old fashioned instantly. I'm surprised they changed it's version number to MacOS 11.0 but who cares about a number, 99,9% of Mac users don't. It's about what you can do with and Big sur looks promising for SURe!
They overflowed the 4-bit minor version number. 10.14 + 0.1 = 10.15, but 10.15 + 0.1 = 11.0
I guess calling it "11" is better than using the obvious abbreviation of "Big Sur".

TBH, I liked this year’s WWDC. Much better than fake cheers and claps. Felt more real for some reason.
I cannot wait to dump Intel. I have this NUC8 which loses HDMI signal every 5 mins and comes with third class GPU performance. I would also be interested to run Windows on ARM through Bootcamp. Microsoft has managed to get x86 emulation up and running.

So instead of making my iPhone to be like a Mac, I have a Mac feeling like my iPhone.

MS and Adobe are working on Arm native versions, but it was never mentioned when these will actually be released.
Well say goodbye to bootcamp and windows 10 applications. So you need to buy a new Xbox or PS5 this fall if you are a gamer. But I can see the advantage of now having more available applications from the App Store so the Mac will have a much larger application base now.
This is really exciting. Can't wait for the supported macs list. Great WWDC presentation all around, and much easier to watch than the live event videos.
When they switched to MacOS X they said it would be the OS for the next 20 years. It’s now been about 20 years on version 10.x so its a good time for a new number. It’s otherwise still going strong. They’ve made many changes but haven’t had to start from scratch like they did before.
