  • iPhone Mirroring causes a respring or system crash on an iPhone 17 Series phone (FB23070844)

  • When filling your screen with the App Store, the title of the View may be wider than expected
  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0

Additional Notes
  • This is a DEVELOPER BETA! This means that you should install on either a second device or a second volume. This is not currently usable on a day-to-day basis and certain apps may not work. To see those apps, you can check this thread.
  • Updates might not show up in Settings as soon as it releases if you have Rosetta 2 installed. This is due to Apple not releasing Rosetta at the same time as macOS 27 Betas. Please wait up to an hour before you will be able to update.
  • If you are encountering a memory management issue (eg. a Memory Leak), please provide what app/process it is coming from (Using Activity Monitor) and what you were doing in that app.
  • macOS 27 will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this, as the update won’t install with an installer.

I had some issues trying to update/see the update. Same old issue: Rosetta.
What worked for me:
1)Deleting:
/Library/Apple/usr/share/rosetta
/Library/Apple/usr/libexec
2)Check for updates ->update
3)Restore those 2 folders.

The macOS 27 SDK indicates that the menubar icons (the icons in front of menu items in the main menu) can be hidden. Can anyone check whether there is a setting for this in System Settings?

Edit: Looks like macOS 27 pretty much removes most icons instead of providing a setting:
In macOS 27.0, menu bar and context menus present a reduced set of menu item images, similar to the behavior prior to macOS 26.0. By default, NSMenu hides all menu item symbol images — non-symbol images remain visible. For menu items created from a xib file, NSMenu also observes the value of the “macOS 26.0 only” checkbox in the menu item inspector. If this checkbox is unchecked, the menu item image remains visible; if checked, it is hidden. These changes in menu item image visibility apply to applications linked on macOS 26.0 and later. Review the updated Human Interface Guidelines to determine which menu items in your app should still display images. Use the new preferredImageVisibility property on NSMenuItem to customize the image visibility for your menu items. As in macOS 26.0, NSMenu automatically provides default visible menu item images for certain common system-wide menu items, such as Settings, Share, and Print. (170477566)

I hope so too. Wish I had another Mac on 26 still to compare to, but I feel like before the box *behind* the active tab was the same color as the inactive tabs. Now it just looks.. weird.

I'm sure they'll fix it!

so far it is yes and no on this for full installer and ipsw

previously both were below 20GB - about 19GB for tahoe

but it actually did go down for golden gate full installer. currently full installer is 17GB. i’m glad that one actually did go down but was expecting it to go down more so still a little disappointed.

the ipsw is a different story. golden gate ipsw has unfortunately broken the 20GB barrier and beta 1 ipsw is a whopping 23GB!

I see.

Maybe what space was left by purging Intel stuff was filled by AI?

I have updated all my test Macs and devices.

So quickly:

1. All apps I have run normally without any issues so far.

2. Haven’t had time to look at all the Siri AI stuff. Have to read the docs and watch the WWDC video again.

3. Liquid Glass toolbar buttons are more jello like. They look fine in Light mode but ugly in Dark mode. They are grey jello blobs on a dark window.

4. The toolbar/title bar is back but it is inconsistent. Apple TV Library has it. Books has it if your cursor hovers on the top. Music doesn’t have it.

5. Scroll bars are still the same inconsistent mess as Tahoe. Sometimes they have a gutter. Sometimes they are floating on top of window content.

6. I’m glad the sidebar is back to the classic look. The Tahoe sidebar was one ugly MF.

7. My Wacom tablet won’t work unless I keep the Wacom Center app open. This is annoying. In Login Items settings pane there is a new thing that forces you to keep background apps running visibly instead of hidden.

8. Another ugly things is the tablet makes a new menu item appear called Virtual Machine Accessories. It looks like some **** idea that would be on Linux. Even Windows wouldn’t have this crap.

Aside from the issues in 7 and 8 this is mostly better than Tahoe by a light year but still lots of UI issues carried over.
