Remote disk disconnected overnight, was trying a video encode which is now ruined and will have to re-attempt.

appstoreagent is a runaway process - others have noted that as well.

Reboots/restarts crash, both on the shutting down side and on the subsequent restart side.

IT'S AN EARLY DEV BETA.

Networking issues are a great problem to have this early. Means they are actively in a construction zone. I love hearing this. SMB was one place (amongst many) where I was hoping for a step up in quality.

anybody else experiences freezing for their MacBook, which needs hard reboot to reactivate it?
Happens after building software or long editing with ChatGPT

In Weather app, there is a bug where I open precipitation map and close it anymore, x button does not work. I have to force close Weather.
Yesterday it stormed in my area, and the Mac Weather rain animation had lots of stutter. There are a few issues..

Contacts created on my iPhone (beta 2) sync to iCloud, but not to my Mac (beta 2). This was happening on beta 1 (both) as well, and when I reinstalled it was resolved. Now both are on beta 2, it was still working. Now it's broken again =(

Not sure how to troubleshoot this one.. I'm just updated my Feedback. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Feedback says 'open' and that more than 10 reported the same. My own report is FB23284177

Safari beachballs sometimes when opening the application.

Application icons cause stuttering when scrolling in icon view, but large lists of photos with previews do not cause stuttering when scrolling.

I have that appstoreagent (and dasd?) process running constantly in background consuming a lot of CPU and draining battery on my MacBook Air M4 🙁

View attachment 2640488

Same problem here (M4 Pro Mac mini).

At the moment "appstoreagent" about 115% and "dasd" on second place with about 56%.

It stays like that until I logout or reboot and it came back every single day. Not sure when or why, it suddenly just happpens. I can't say if sleeping is even stopping it because my Mac is set to automatically log out completely a while after after going to sleep.

I used App Tamer to fix it for now. You can do it for both processes but keeping "appstoreagent" constantly at 1% is also reducing "dasd" automatically to almost nothing. Just turned it off shortly to see the real percentage again.

It has a 15 day free trial. Should be enough until the next update. But it's a very recommandable app, especially for betas. It's always warning you if any process or app is exceeding a certain limit you can set like this for example:

You should use the latest beta version because it has a fix for 27:

"JUN 22 2026: App Tamer beta 3.0b12 corrects an issue with its CPU-limiting feature, fixes a problem on the macOS 27 Golden Gate developer beta and eliminates a crash."

I am calibrating my battery using Aldente and this showed up, the battery with the warning sign, it has replace the Control Center icon.

Update: I was curious, went to the battery limit setting and, it was reset to 90% after I set it to 100% to let it fully charge so Aldente can do it thing however, it went back to 90% on it own and when I set it back to 100% the icon went away.
By playing around with percentage the icon came back, now it is circling on it own battery with warning sign / Control Center icon.

I currently using my computer lying on the back and the battery temp is 37-38 with fan set to medium with Mac Fans Control app. Going full speed.

I'm not on Golden Gate yet, but I'm paying attention. I had no idea about this app. I just checked it out and I love having this level of process control, forcing certain background apps to efficiency controls and putting a CPU limit on them. Reminds me of Process Lasso for Windows. I'm having an issue with Apple Numbers using a lot of CPU in the background and this allowed me to put the kibosh on that immediately. Thanks for the recommendation.

About the appstoreagent process.... just disable automatic app updates in the Appstore settings. That should keep it quiet, at least that works for me

in Safari, zooming in and out of Google Maps slows the entire system down, feels like everything is gonna crash. This is not just one time thing.

Since my post was removed from the All the little things thread, I’m not sure if this is the correct thread for current Golden Gate observations. Mods, please accept an advanced apology if this thread isn’t the correct one. I’m happy to be pointed in the right direction.

The transparent, jiggly selector animation when moving the volume slider is fun, but it’s buggy in System Settings at the low and high end of the volume limit. In general, pill sliders are imprecise.

I welcome the animations in Golden Gate, but they always happen a split second after the action is finished, which makes the system feel laggy. For example, the animation for dragging a file into a folder is nice but the timing doesn’t seem right.

Apple hasn’t fixed all the non-centred icons in toolbar buttons left over from Tahoe.

Forcing everything into circles and squircles makes the UI odd in some places like Safari tabs and back/forward buttons.

Opening Safari takes longer than in previous macOS versions. I expect Apple will iron out that issue by launch.

Safari has a notification on the Start Page to reminder the user that they can sync over iCloud. Happened only once, but I didn’t appreciate the reminder.

Scrolling stutters when in icon view in the Applications folder, but large lists of documents with photo previews don’t cause stuttering when a tab is open.

In general, icons render better than Tahoe. Icons don’t seem to need to render again after scrolling through the Applications folder.

Issues wth trackpad during wakeup on M1 MacBook Pro 2021 Max. Pointer freezes for a minute or two, then after moving fingers over trackpad with some force, it is activated again and functions normally. Tested it a few times and is only found in beta 2.

No idea about when it will be fixed but Apple did acknowledge the issue with "more than 10" reports of the issue and it is tagged to be fixed "in a future release."

I'm sure it got reported quickly after release so my expectation is that B3 will address this.
