The update broke Steam on Crossover and Diablo 4 using Battle.net. Oh well.
You might have some VPNs or network filters enabled in Settings. Going to Network -> VPN & Filters and then disabling everything under Filters & Proxies made Steam work for me.

Fixed some of the CPU spinning issues, broke a bunch of stuff that was working fine before - classic modern-day Apple chaotic beta.

Dev B1 was surprisingly OK except for Mission Control, but B2 was a mess and now B3 just swaps in a whole new set of issues. Random hangs at the terminal for network access, which will be almost impossible to diagnose or fix; regression with menu bar selection jank / menus that won't stay open if you've more than one display and one of them has a full-screen application up; Control Centre seems completely hosed, especially on the primary display - it's extremely slow to appear or use, won't consistently hide and customisation is broken; and finally Safari crashed after restart, so the fault reporter showed up, and once it happily said "Feedback sent" - none of the buttons worked in the window, nor did it have any traffic light icons to try. In fact "buttons in random places and random apps just stop responding" seems to be becoming a bit of an OS 27 hallmark, and a major PITA. Only way to get rid of the diagnostic reporter window? Force-quit the diagnostic reporter. Absolute classic, Apple.

Before the usual apologist list of "none of these for me" / "it's perfect" / "bEsT bEtA eVeR" responses - the whole point and the whole concern is how random, janky and unpredictable the whole thing has become, with it being a total roll of the dice from one beta to the next, or even from public release patch to patch. It's just a trash fire of "cross your fingers and hope" at every update and now we're 3 releases in, unfortunately it's become clear that the '27 beta shows no signs of improvement there, despite Apple's WWDC promises about a focus on quality.

Still got the disappearing menu bar bug. It's related to switching profiles so not everyone will see it but it's pretty reliably reproduced. Switch profiles a bunch of times and eventually none of your profiles will have menu bars. Only remedy is restarting.

Thanks! It was the Lulu app blocking Steam for me.

Has anyone managed to get this to install in a VM? Even at Beta 3, Installing from the .ipsw still fails at 78% each time with "Installation Failed", and if I try to make a Tahoe VM in order to update it from the inside, that _also_ fails at 78%. If I update one of my older VMs to Tahoe inside the VM, I can then boot into Tahoe, but trying to sign into my Apple ID results in "An unknown error occurred.", so I can't get the beta checkbox to show up in the Software Update pane. It's a bit frustrating...

This beta broke Time Machine backups for me. Won't unlock the back up disk attached to Mac Studio M1 Ultra. Same in Disk Utility - can't mount the dis (SSD in USB C port). Guessing I'll have to erase the disk and start again, but will report it and see if next update fixes.
It did fix the no wallpaper showing on 2nd monitor issue though

Still can't mount Macs on local network. Can see the servers/Macs but when trying to mount, says it can't find them. Is this an SMB problem?

It’s not that it’s random or janky. The introduce new changes in each beta so different new things break. Then they get tested in the wild. That’s the whole point.

Are your Time Machine backups broken in all OS or just the beta?

Are y'all developers?

I can't believe you are out there mainlining early betas of your OS like this if you're not.

I'm not touching GG until a few public betas in, if at all before release.

I’m not a developer but I usually install it on a separate volume and then update my main one once everything I need works. Been doing it this way forever

The way some complain here it sounds like they install the beta on their only system just to have something to complain about !

I have an issue with the Windows App connecting to a remote server. It’s s hit and miss, mostly miss as it doesn’t connect mostly

I really don't understand complaining about the supposed jankiness of the beta. To me, the fact that stuff changes from beta to beta - and we're still in Developer beta here not Public - just shows they actually have people working on macOS this time round. Like, of course betas are going to be unpredictable, even compared to other beta periods of previous versions. Everyone has a different use footprint, everyone's going to get affected differently. Come on guys.

I might agree it's worth commenting on or even worrying about if we're into Public beta 8 and stuff is still disappearing and reappearing etc. But even then. What really matters is what the GM is like, and whether it's the usual call of the old wisened greybeard Mac user that remains true: if you want a stable version of the latest macOS, wait until at least a couple major revisions of the GM are out. Now that I think is worth complaining about, but given that Golden Gate is supposed to be a Snow Leopard / Mountain Lion type fix-up release, I am holding back my epic rants, ever the optimistic fool that I am.

Also, really weird that people are experiencing Siri issues - all I had to do was add the Siri app (of which there was only one) to the Dock and it's back, the whole app as in the last two versions. FWIW I did (had to do) a clean install on an APFS volume added to my main drive, and I'm in the UK, two factors I think could go into differences with Siri etc.

This is running way better than beta two for me, faster, and most importantly MUCH cooler. Beta 2 was hot all time on my MB.

However I have the disappearing menu bug now.

My studio display resolution is all over the place with this beta. Everything is set much larger than before and I cannot seem to change it back to how it was before....

People sign up for betas who are not developers hence they tend not to understand the process. Dev beta 1 is a preview, typically 2.3 and 4 is where the plumbing for new features are worked on. This is typically when things break. Beta 5-9 is where focus is on fixes. You only have to look at the last letter in the build number which shows how close it is to a stable release, an a and b is close. Beta two was a g I recall. Beta 3 is a j, further away from being a stable release suggesting they have made a few plumbing changes in this beta. This cycle of a relative stable developer preview followed by problematic early betas with progressively more stable betas post +\- beta 4 has occurred with every beta I have used for the last decade or so.

I think a lot of commenters here have multiple machines and/or don't really do much on their hardware besides browse the web and what not lol.

Has anyone experienced this after updating to beta 3. I'm unable to load websites in Firefox or Opera. Also dropbox fails to connect and telegram says connecting. Also when I open music, it's stuck on loading iTunes purchases.

Safari seems to load websites fine.

On beta 2 everything worked fine. I don't use a VPN just connect to the internet via WiFi.

Any help would be appreciated.
