It seems like Apple is listening more their customers lately, isn’t it? HDMI and SD card are back, the touchbar is gone and function keys are back...

Is the old design still available as an option? The coloured top bar still an option? I never started using the new Safari, so it will remain the same to me, but I was curious just to try it.

EDIT: Ok, apparently you can still revert to the new-old design. I just read it.
 
I hope it still has the compact design. I really don’t want to lose that space for a design that doesn’t give me any benefits.

You mean the new design? This is the old design.
 
This macrumours article needs to be re-worded to make it clearer:

“macOS Monterey now features a standard Big Sur tab design that does have the tabs with spaces in between them, which Mac users who were unhappy with the design update will be pleased to hear.”

Cool I like the old tabs better than the button tabs but I’m using the unified tabs anyway and got used to that.
