The Verge, Yahoo Finance, Tomshardware.com, ... these sites are obnoxious with color on. It's too much for the eyeballs. And harder to read the tabs.
I disabled the inherited color the first day. On some websites the bar became a super bright color that was too much for the eyes.

One of several reasons why the new design was unintuitive was that the use of a 'darker' button for the focused page was at odds with the previous design, but more importantly, was at odds with Apple's other tabbed applications such as Mail, Preview, Pages, Numbers, etc. In all of these it is the lightest tab that is in focus.

I would prefer to see improvements to the display and management of bookmarks, including a 'separator' feature. Hotkey-triggered overlay for bookmarks or history would be very helpful and would save the space taken up by the bookmarks bar.
In dark mode it was the lighter tab that was in focus, and I still found it confusing.

I personally feel that many websites use obnoxious colours for the Tab Bar. It’s being abused so bad.
Yeah, it was too much. Maybe it would have been less obnoxious if they used a muted color inspired by the website, but the constantly shifting colors when switching tabs was distracting, too.

I feel like the only person that has liked everything they did with Safari, both on Mac with that design and on iOS with the address bar dropped to the bottom of the screen. Does this also rollback the way the nav bar inherits colors from the web page?

I really like it too. Hopefully there is a way to retain the new design, other than "compact" mode which I don't use (I like having a separate URL bar and I need lots of space for tabs)
