I’ve got a ps5 and tbh I spend more time playing games on my iOS devices

Imagine a souped up Apple TV gaming edition that can play the entire iOS back catalogue in 4k ?

exciting times ..

i suppose that’s just a matter of what kind of games you like to play?

On the ps5 I’ve ended up playing all the games I played on PS4 just in higher resolution

Bought a few ps5 games they were very expensive and not very good

so we will now be able to get 120hz mode by default on a supported monitor?
if the monitor supports both VRR and HIFR, then yes, take those lg gaming monitors with 1 ms response, those will support VRR adaptive sync and fixed frame rate to whateverr they're sold wit, so for like the UltraGear 27GN850(-B), 27GL850, 27GP850 or 27GN950 then yes, these support dynamic framerate through Monterey ActiveSync support and static framerates up to 144Hz. I have one coming in tomorrow, then I can post a screenshot from macOS SysPref. with the monitor attached.

Civ 6 has been broken for more than a year on recent Intel MBP's and iMacs. It might be working better with the macOS 11.4 update for some macs but users are still reporting crashes/bugs. As much as I would like proper gaming to happen on macs, most game developers don't seem to take the platform seriously.

joke will be on them then, when msft abandons x86_32/64 in the coming years :_)

Both are current, and both are active gameplay. What are you talking about? He plays both the retail and classic.

And for that matter, when not using my external monitor, Classic is pegged at 60fps and Real WoW is generally above 40, native resolution.

When plugged into my 1440p Samsung G7, Classic is nearly always at 120fps and Real WoW is generally over 90fps.

i am not sure i get it

we will need compatible monitors with vrr ,ok ,but what kind? freesync and gsync ,both working ?

besides why would it work in games and fullscreen only? since mbp have pro motion, they can go hrr when scrolling/interacting with the screen, and get low when watching a video or doing nothing ,why wouldnt it work on an external monitor as well ? isnt that controled by the OS?

My understanding is that this is an AMD FreeSync feature. The M series GPUs will use Pro Motion instead of FreeSync. This change is mostly for Intel Mac minis, and Mac Pros that use a discrete AMD GPU on a third party monitor.

im trying to find info on this, as all my local stores simply list freesync and gsync monitors as display port version 1.2, not many specify the "A"

So im struggling to find a monitor that i can know will work
