I'm trying a HyperDrive Thunderbolt 3/16 port hub right now and I still get the same problem. USB-C port on the hub work okay with a 4k monitor and my USB-A seem fine right now. When I attach a DP connection, I get instant computer freeze and have to do a hard shut down.Anybody tried with thunderbolt hubs vs usb-c hubs?
I reinstalled macOS 12.0.1 over itself, and seems ok for now. I did initially get a message about a USB Device using too much power, but I'm unsure what it is. I unplugged my Logitech WebCam for now so there's less power being used and all is well at the moment. Other than not having my WebCam (or mic). I do have a number of external drives, but those are all powered as well. Anything I've got connected that's actually drawing power now has been unplugged...I've been using a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro since I purchased my M1 MBP in November er last year and for the most part have had no issues to speak of until this morning. As of today I keep getting Kernel Panics when I connect. I'm not sure if it's one of my external drives or what's going on...
Also as of this morning, this is happening? Actually, this is what started happening first, and then the Kernel Panics after the reboot to try and correct this. After getting logged in, and before any Kernel Panic occurs, I'm seeing BlueTooth and Wireless being off. So I'm having to connect my Apple Magic Trackpad & Keyboard to my dock to get logged in and stuff.. Very weird & frustrating morning so far

Had the too much power error over the holiday. Which is really strange since the only things plugged into the computer itself are three thunderbolt powered hubs.I reinstalled macOS 12.0.1 over itself, and seems ok for now. I did initially get a message about a USB Device using too much power, but I'm unsure what it is. I unplugged my Logitech WebCam for now so there's less power being used and all is well at the moment. Other than not having my WebCam (or mic). What "this", to be specific?I managed to get this working
Awesome! Glad to hear that it's fixed, and thanks for reporting back.I've been running 12.1 for a couple hours tonight and my external HDDs have not disconnected from my OWC Thunderbolt 2 hub (connected via Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter)!
Usually, my HDDs would lost their connection within minutes of booting and logging in.
I also connect a RØDECaster Pro to the same hub. It previously suffered horribly from the disconnects, but I haven't been in a circumstance to retest that, yet. However, its problems would always occur when my HDDs would lose their connections, too. So I'm going to assume it's working, too.
Going to take the plunge. I'm getting daily crashes from waking from sleep with APFS (nothing plugged in) from the Big Sur patch. For me, some problems are fixed- strangely even without 12.1. before, some external drives kept disconnecting but suddenly they seem to work just fine (even with 12.0.1). I still have to test a small portable usb c hub which would not be able to host a usb a stick. Will report if this also works now.
I also still have problems. It recognises the external displays but none of the USB devices.12.1 did not fix my USB hub problem. Both my BenQ 32" 4k display and WaveLink 7-port USB3 hubs are still disconnecting from my M1 Mac mini. This is really frustrating. Come Apple, get your ? together!
Worked for my but after the reboot the issue persisted.Hey guys! I managed to get this working by uninstalling the newest DisplayLink Software and installing
DisplayLink Manager Graphics Connectivity (1.3.1)
